About Pine Bend

Principal Quennel CooperWelcome from Principal Quennel Cooper

I am proud to be the principal of Pine Bend Elementary. My previous position was Assistant Principal at Hilltop Elementary where I formed the "Boys To Men" program.  In addition, I was a teacher in the Saint Paul Public Schools.  I believe we can do all things and all students can succeed.

Pine Bend is special because of the involvement of our PTSA, community and fantastic staff.  Our goal is to focus on the "whole child" receiving a well-rounded curriculum.  Students experience enrichment courses in physical education, media and music.  Our student council is active in the community developing strong leaders.  We are proud of our annual events such as SALT Day (Students and Adults Learning Together) and our Carnival that bring the community together.

Pine Bend Elementary School first opened to Inver Grove Heights students in 1958. Through the years, it has served as a home for the Inver Grove Heights District Office as well as the National Guard. In 1991, a reborn and enlarged Pine Bend welcomed elementary students once again. We now serve approximately 550 students with a teaching staff and support staff of 50 energetic and dedicated individuals.
