New Announcements

 

Picture retake day is on October 13th. If students would like their picture retaken, they need to bring their original photo package from Lifetouch. Any students that have not had their picture taken should make sure they have their picture taken, even if they are not ordering photos. Pictures can be order at mylifetouch.com with Picture Day ID: MI196076Y2

UPCOMING AFTER SCHOOL CLASSES- IGH MIDDLE SCHOOL

Certified Babysitter Training

This course is designed to provide youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. Youth will learn skills in four core areas: leadership and professionalism, safety,basic care for infants and children and first aid. Certification and Babysitter’s Handbook. Please bring a bag lunch and a beverage.

Fondant Fun

Students will frost an 8” cake using butter cream frosting and then will use fondant techniques to decorate their cake to take home.

Girls are Powerful | I AM Workshop!

I AM...Two of the most POWERFUL words that you can use, because what you put after them shapes who you are. This workshop is a lively session where we discuss each of the six power principles and conclude with an inspirational Girls Are Powerful Art Project.

Simley Theatre
There will be a Simley Theatre Booster Club meeting on Tuesday, October 11th from 6:30-7:30 PM in the Simley High School IMC. We will be discussing how we can support the Fall production of You Can’t Take It With You!  We encourage all parents of current theatre students to attend and welcome anyone who has an interest in helping to support the theatre program.   

 

Fall Conference Teacher Appreciation Meal

Parents, please consider sharing an expression of gratitude to our IGHMS staff with a contribution to a warm meal during the busy conference period.  We will be putting together an Italian themed meal.  Please have the food, drink, paper product, or self to school by 2:30 pm. The food will be available to about 60 staff members from 3:00 - 5:00 pm in the IMC, but if you need to drop things off earlier in the day, please do so in the staff lounge.

Family Support Group

NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Minnesota provides support groups to help parents and caregivers discover resources to meet the challenges of raising a child with a mental illness, learn coping skills and develop problem solving skills.  Each of the support groups are facilitated by a parent who has a child with a mental illness and who has received specialized training.

An Important Reminder for all students & parents…

All students must be accompanied by an adult in order to attend any home athletic events. This includes all middle school events as well as any high school events including the varsity football games. We will turn students away at the door if they are not with an adult. Please know that a parent cannot just drop a student off for the night. They must buy a ticket and be in attendance during the event.
