Simley High School Girls Varsity Volleyball beat Park 3-0

The Simley Girls Volleyball team opened its home season against non-conference opponent Park of Cottage Grove on Tuesday, September 5th. The Spartans defended their home court well with a straight set victory that was elegant in execution and superb in solidity. After a seesaw first set which saw Senior Ashley Perrin, who led the team with 11 kills, dash the Wolfpack’s hopes with a big kill on set point, the Spartans dominated the rest of the match. All the seniors came to play as Guresi Mena hit .700 with 7 kills in 10 attempts and Kayla Anderson anchored the back row digging 100% of the balls hit at her and serve receiving, the hardest and most important skill in volleyball, at 2.5 on a 3 point scale. The errors were few and far between as all 11 Spartans who saw action contributed to the satisfying home debut.
