The Simley boys soccer team had a great performance at last night’s game as they TIED last year’s State Champions, St. Thomas Academy, who is currently first in our conference.  The entire boys team played aggressively that put the game into overtime.  The boys continued to work as a team stopping St. Thomas landing in a 0-0 tie.  The Simley team had some great attempts and a few shots that hit the bar of the goal and they continually stopped St. Thomas.  Way to go to the boys Simley soccer team!

The offensive juggernaut otherwise known as the Simley Girls Volleyball team rolled into Minneapolis South on Tuesday night only to roll out less than an hour later with a three-straight set win featuring the best offense of the season. As a team, the Spartans hit over .500, a relatively unknown feat in volleyball. Simley hitters were certainly hungry and Junior Setter Rachel Wanger fed them time after time with sweet sets adding up to 28 assists. The power on the Spartan side of the court came from all along the net, highlighted by Sophomore Tiwaah Danso who hit .800 out of the middle and the right and Junior Adara Kellogg who hit .727 with an unstoppable slide hitting attack. The back row was anchored by Junior Sydney Brady and Sophomore Sydney Stensgard whose pinpoint passing allowed the Spartan’s offense to render the Tiger’s defense futile. Overall, Simley outscored South 75-46 for the night.
