Yesterday the Simley Cross Country team hosted the Simley Invite and competed very well.  The Boys Middle School team won their race with a perfect score of 15 pts, led by 8th grader Nico Losinski, while 8th grader Crystal Bonilla won the Middle School girls race.  In the Girls High School Race, Brekken Grathen led the Spartans with an 8th place finish, followed by Grace Raab in 12th, Julia Myers in 14th, and Becca Molstad in 22nd.  

In the Boys High School race, the Spartans were led by Senior Captains Tim Wilmot & Nick Molstad in 4th and 5th place, followed by Grant Dilla in 11th, Gabe Alvear 15th, Carter Bollmann 16th, Ben Borchard 20th, and Ian Anderson in 35th.  The boys finished 2nd with 51pts behind meet winner Hastings.  This was a 4 spot improvement from last year and the highest team finish in this millennia for the Spartans.  South St. Paul won the girls high school team race.

The Spartans next race at the Metro East Conference Championship on Tuesday, Oct. 17th at St. Croix Bluffs Park in Hastings.

 

TOMORROW - Attention all Girls interested in joining basketball this coming season! There will be an informational meeting on Friday, October 13th at 7:10 a.m. in the high school gym.

 

Interested in Cross Country skiing? There will be a Nordic Ski meeting on Tues. Oct. 17th at 2:40pm. in Coach Sedler's room (WA 111). Check in with Coach Sedler ([email protected]) or Coach Anderson ([email protected]) if you aren't able to make the meeting.

 

Attention Seniors!

If you have not had your senior pictures taken yet, make sure you schedule your photo shoot soon! You have until December 1st to submit your Senior Portrait, turn in your baby picture, and complete the Senior Yearbook Survey.

ATTENTION BOYS & GIRLS SOCCER PLAYERS

Uniforms & bags will be collected TODAY after school for all girls and boys C-squad and JV teams as well as the Varsity boys in the cafeteria.  The boosters are providing pizza for those who return their uniforms & bags.

  

 

The Simley Girls Soccer team will be playing New Life Academy TONIGHT at 7:00 p.m.   Come support the team as they start their sections playoffs.  Tickets are $8 for Adults & $6 for students. Passes not accepted.

The College Knowledge Fact of the Day: While there are 60 all-female colleges across the United States, there are only 4 all-male institutions remaining in the U.S. 1 of the 4 is St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota.

Interested in joining the 2017-2018 Simley Dance Team?  Winter Competitive Team tryout practices will take place on Monday, October 23rd and Tuesday, October 24th from 4:00-5:00pm & 5:15-6:15pm. Tryouts and team announcements will take place on Tuesday, October 24th after practice from 6:30-7:30pm.  If you are currently in grades 7-12, you are welcome to tryout.  See the signs posted around school for more details. Please email the Coaches at [email protected] with any questions.


Student Parking Lot- Only students with a Simley parking pass are allowed to park in the student lot. If you do not have a pass, you must park off campus. Students found parked in the lot with a pass may be ticketed, booted etc. See Ms. Sievert in the main office if you have questions.


Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.
