Attention German Club Members - There is a German Club meeting on Friday, January 19th at 7:15 a.m.  in Mr. Mitchell’s room.

The boys basketball team returned home for a matchup with conference opponent and rival South St Paul High School. The teams traded baskets for much of the first half as the Packers took a one point lead into the locker room. The Spartans scored early in the second half and took the lead building it to double digits behind three players in double figures - Isaiah Robinson (26), Jake Binley (19), and Sam Vuyovich (13). Tyler Walker contributed with a solid second half effort. The JV team won 63-54. The teams have a few days off before returning to action next Tuesday night against Tartan High School.

The girls basketball team traveled across town to South St. Paul on Tuesday to try get another win. The girls were given some goals for the game with defense being one of those goals. The team really responded in the 1st half only allowing 9 points and in turn putting up 34 points. The team played a little sloppy in the 2nd half, but still came away with a 51-31 victory. Sydney Stensgard and Tiwaah Danso lead Simley with 15 and 13 points, Bonita Franco chipped in 6 points and both Kayla Anderson and Sydney Runsewe added 5 points each. The Spartans travel to North St. Paul on Friday night.
