College Road Trip! Join us on 1, 2, 3, or all 4 days as we road trip to visit local college campuses this summer! During the week of June 25th we will be visiting Gustavus, Mankato, Winona State, St. Ben’s/St. John’s, St. Cloud, University of Minnesota, and University of St. Thomas. The trip is free to students and parents and is an excellent way to get started on college planning! Pick-up an application in the Career Center or Counseling Office. Applications are due TOMORROW, Friday, June 1st!  




SENIORS:  DID YOU MISS making your advanced registration and payment of $40 for the All Night Party TODAY?  LAST CHANCE TO Sign up TOMORROW, Friday, June 1st during Cap & Gown pick up at 8am-10am or in the cafeteria between 11am-1pm!  Payment can also be mailed [DUE AT POST OFFICE FRIDAY JUNE 1ST!!] to a locked mailbox: "Simley All Night Party", 3042 96th Street E, IGH, MN  55077.  Please include unisex adult t-shirt size with payment.  



Any student with Art Show work must pick it up from the art rooms before the end of the year.



All AP Art students who are either signed up for AP Art or are considering it for next year must come to a brief meeting on Monday, June 4th at 2:40 p.m. in Mr. Gilbertson’s room.



Congratulations to the Softball team for their 6-2 win over Richfield on Tuesday. They are one game away from the section final. The Spartans take on SSP today at 5 p.m. at Richfield Middle School.



The Baseball team also continues play in their section tournament. The team will play Highland Park at 7 p.m. TODAY at Red Haddox Fields in Bloomington.

GO SPARTANS!



The Simley Lacrosse team got an impressive playoff win at home Wednesday evening, beating TriMac 17-7. The Spartans got multi-goal games from Peter Gorman, Jacob Hageman, Jakob Myers, Tommy Arends, Evan McNally and Andrew Bergum, plus another great game in goal from Andrew Sievertson. They advance to the section quarterfinals, where they will visit top-seeded Eagan at 5 p.m. on Friday.




Didn't get your yearbook? Pick up your book from Mr. Mandell in room WA209 as soon as possible. There are also still a few extras available for $80 if you did not pre-order one.



ATTENTION BOYS HOCKEY PLAYERS – There will be a short meeting in Mr. Lissick’s classroom WA105 before school Friday morning at 7:15 a.m. for all 8th- 11th grade players (9th-12th grade players next season) to discuss the summer training program, strength and conditioning program and summer team building activities. YEAR END MEDICATION RETURN:

All medications including prescription and over the counter medications will be returned to students to take home during 7th hour Thursday May 31st.  Students will be instructed to put medication directly into their backpack to take home.

Any parent that does not want the medication sent home with their child should notify the school nurse, Dawn Erdman at 651.306.7014, so that other arrangements can be made.




Simley Co-Ed High School Bowling Club:  Are you interested in bowling for the Simley Co-Ed High School Bowling Club.  Our Co-Ed 2018 season will begin in September.  Any level of bowler is welcome. If so, please contact Gary Salzman (coach) at [email protected]   for more information.  Practices will start mid-August.

Soccer Managers Wanted | The Simley Boys and Girls soccer teams are looking for managers for the Fall 2018 season. Managers will help with game statistics as well as recording games. No soccer experience necessary. Managers are eligible for a Manager letter. If you are interested in being a team manager for the girls, please visit Coach Austin in her classroom (WA106) or email her at [email protected]. If you are interested in being a team manager for the boys, please contact Coach Dayus at [email protected].

 

 

2018 Simley Soccer Camp | All Fall 2018 Simley High soccer players should turn in their summer soccer camp registration ASAP. The boys’ soccer camp runs from 9-11 am on Monday, June 18, Wednesday, June 20, and Friday, June 22 with the top 18 players being invited to a scrimmage on Saturday, June 23. The girls’ soccer camp runs from 10-12 pm on July 9-12. All camp information and registration details can be found on the Simley Soccer website (www.simleysoccer.com).

Spartan Trained Summer Speed & Strength Program - June 11 through August 10

For: Athletes entering grades 7-12.

Cost: $100.  The family max for fees is not applicable to the Summer programs.

Session Times:

    7:00-8:00 A.M.  - High school boys & girls entering 9th-12th grade

    8:00 - 9:00 A.M. - High School girls entering 9th-12th grade

    9:15 A.M. -10:15 A.M. - High School boys entering 9th-12th grade

   10:30 A.M.-11:30 A.M. - All middle school boys & girls entering 7th & 8th grade

Attention Seniors:  Each of you must complete a graduation survey.  A link to the survey can be found on Simley's homepage.  The survey allows us to track your post-high school plans as well as authorizes the release of your final transcript.  Please complete this as soon as possible. Seniors - Your Senior Grad Fee is due!   Payments can be made on Fee Pay or in person to Ms. Sievert in the Main Office.




Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.
