The IMC is closed today.



The Gymnastics team lost to Mahtomedi last night but had a season best of a 128.675. Top finishers were Morgan Johnson 3rd on floor and in the all-around.



The Spartans boys hockey team got a hat trick from Konnor Carlson plus goals from Robby Watson and Walker Smith along with 27 James Royce saves to beat Hastings 5-2 on Thursday. They are ranked 15th in the state with a 14-6-1 record and host Tartan TONIGHT.



Attention wrestling fans!  If you are are going to wrestling meet tonight & would like to buy a wrestling t-shirt. Jake Hageman & Tommy Taufen will be selling t-shirts for $15 during all lunches today.


The varsity wrestling match tonight vs. Apple Valley begins at 7 p.m.  The JV match starts  at 5:30 p.m.  Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students.


The Choir will be selling carnations and roses during lunches  February 5th-8th. The flowers will be delivered on Valentine's Day.   Carnations are $3 and Roses are $5.



The snowball dance will take place on Saturday, February 24, 7:30-10:00 p.m. in Cahill Court. Tickets will be sold during all three lunches starting on Friday, February 16, and then continuing the week of the dance, February 20-23 for $10. Tickets can be purchased at the door the night of the dance for $15. If you would like to bring a guest from another school, guest contracts are available in the Guidance Office. Signed contracts are due back to Ms. Klukas no later than Wednesday, February 21.



Simley Theatre presents One Act Plays - The Internet is Distract...Oh Look A Kitten and 14 Lines.  Performances will be held TONIGHT & TOMORROW at 7 p.m.  Tickets may be purchased at the door or online at www.simleytheatre.org   Tickets are $10 for Adults and $5 for students.

Basketball Booster Meeting – Thursday, February 8th, 7:00 at Simley in Mr Peper’s room (W101).





Have any new, old or gently used tennis shoes that you don’t need?  Seniors Matthew Baumann and Nick Molstad are doing a shoe drive through an organization called Angel Bins during the month of February. If you have any shoes that you would like to donate, just drop them off in the Guidance office.



ALL NIGHT PARTY - DESPERATELY NEEDS VOLUNTEERS!!

The All Night Party committee has organized a fundraiser to help with costs of hosting the All Night Party for the Class of 2018. They need parent &/or student volunteers to bag groceries at Cub Foods on Sunday, February 4th. Shifts available are from 10am-12pm, 12-2pm, 2-4pm.  Please consider helping out with this very important fundraiser. Contact Lori Frye at [email protected]  if you can volunteer.



Attention Lacrosse Players - If you are planning to join the boys Lacrosse team this Spring, please stop into the cafeteria after school on Wednesday, February 7th, for a quick gear fitting.    It will only take a minute or two, and will get the right size for your captain's practice equipment.



February is Black History Month, which is about coming together as a community to remember and celebrate black history.  This year, Simley will be hosting the Sounds of Color, where students of all backgrounds can come together to celebrate black history through music. The Sounds of Color event will take place on Thursday, February 15th from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the PAC. We encourage you to be a part of this celebration.


Seniors: Reminder that there is a $45 grad fee that is due March 23. The payment can be made through Feepay. If you have any questions, see Ms. Sievert in the main office.

 

 

2018 Spring Trap Season

The 2018 Spring Trap Season will be starting soon.  Trap is open to all 7-12th grade boys and girls who have completed or will have completed the MN DNR Firearms Safety Certification by March 1st.  Registration information will be coming out in the next couple of weeks.  Feel free to email questions to [email protected] or check the Simley Athletics Trap Page for additional information.(https://simleyathletics.com/teams/2233938/boys/trapshooting/varsity)


 

Student Parking Lot- Only students with a Simley parking pass are allowed to park in the student lot. If you do not have a pass, you must park off campus. Students found parked in the lot with a pass may be ticketed, booted etc. See Ms. Sievert in the main office if you have questions.



Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.
