CALLING ALL ACTORS!

Auditions for the Spring Musical, Wizard of Oz, will be on Monday, February 12th and Tuesday, February 13th. Sign up at Middle School Office or in front of the Performing Arts Center for either Monday or Tuesday (not both days) in the Performing Arts Center.

Callbacks, will be on Wednesday, February 14th at 4 p.m.

Everyone is invited to the Simley Lacrosse Taco Feed & Meat Raffle which will be held on Saturday, February 10th from 12 noon - 4 p.m.  Come on out & support this great cause!


The Inver Grove Heights Baseball Assoc is currently accepting registrations for the upcoming 2018 VFW/Legion season. Keep playing and improving all summer long with Coach Hendrikson and his staff. The next All night party planning meeting will be held TONIGHT, Wednesday, February 7 at 6:30 p.m. outside the IMC.  WE NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS!!  PLEASE HELP!!



Basketball Booster Meeting – Thursday, February 8th, 7:00 at Simley in Mr Peper’s room (W101).



Attention Lacrosse Players - If you are planning to join the boys Lacrosse team this Spring, please stop into the cafeteria after school TODAY for a quick gear fitting. It will only take a minute or two, and will get the right size for your captain's practice equipment.



The Choir is selling carnations and roses during lunches  February 5th-8th. The flowers will be delivered on Valentine's Day.   Carnations are $3 and Roses are $5.

Dress Up Days are as follows:

Wednesday - Wacky Wednesday

Thursday - College Day

Friday - School Spirit



The Medallion Hunt rules are as follows:

1. The medallion is hidden in Simley High School.

2. The medallion hunt will only be allowed from 7-7:35 a.m. It will be removed during hours 1-7 and after school.

3. Any destruction of school property will result in a cancellation of the medallion hunt.

4. The winner will receive 2 free Snow Ball dance tickets.

5. There will be a new clue each day this week.

Here is your first clue:

Clue #1    The medallion is what you all seek

(Monday) East or west you shall sneak

These clues keep in mind

But up you must go to find

Or else your hopes shall be bleak.


Clue #2 To win free tickets to Snow Ball

(Tuesday) The Medallion won’t be found in the hall

The scholar’s best bet

Look where the sun sets

And you shall rule over all

 

Clue #3 To win the tickets assume

(Wednesday) To find them outside the classroom

Students will gather here;

To learn of colleges, debt-free!, and clear

Victory shall sound with a boom!

The Simley Trap (not track) team will be having a registration/parent meeting on Tuesday?,? February 13th from 6-8 p.m. in Spartan Center at Simley High School.   

6-6:45 p.m. - ? Registration and merchandise table will be open

6:45-7:20 p.m. - ?Required meeting for all athletes and parents

7:20-8:00 p.m. - ?New athlete/parent meeting

Registration and merchandise table will be open until 8:00 p.m.?

Have any new, old or gently used tennis shoes that you don’t need?  Seniors Matthew Baumann and Nick Molstad are doing a shoe drive through an organization called Angel Bins during the month of February. If you have any shoes that you would like to donate, just drop them off in the Guidance office.



The Snowball Dance will take place on Saturday, February 24, 7:30-10:00 p.m. in Cahill Court. Tickets will be sold during all three lunches starting on Friday, February 16, and then continuing the week of the dance, February 20-23 for $10. Tickets can be purchased at the door the night of the dance for $15. If you would like to bring a guest from another school, guest contracts are available in the Guidance Office. Signed contracts are due back to Ms. Klukas no later than Wednesday, February 21.



February is Black History Month, which is about coming together as a community to remember and celebrate black history.  This year, Simley will be hosting the Sounds of Color, where students of all backgrounds can come together to celebrate black history through music. The Sounds of Color event will take place on Thursday, February 15th from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the PAC. We encourage you to be a part of this celebration.


Seniors: Reminder that there is a $45 grad fee that is due March 23. The payment can be made through Feepay. If you have any questions, see Ms. Sievert in the main office.

 

 

2018 Spring Trap Season

The 2018 Spring Trap Season will be starting soon.  Trap is open to all 7-12th grade boys and girls who have completed or will have completed the MN DNR Firearms Safety Certification by March 1st.  Registration information will be coming out in the next couple of weeks.  Feel free to email questions to simleytrapteam@gmail.com or check the Simley Athletics Trap Page for additional information.(https://simleyathletics.com/teams/2233938/boys/trapshooting/varsity)


 

Student Parking Lot- Only students with a Simley parking pass are allowed to park in the student lot. If you do not have a pass, you must park off campus. Students found parked in the

lot with a pass may be ticketed, booted etc. See Ms. Sievert in the main office if you have questions.



Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.
