High School Boys & Girls Track, Softball & Baseball start TODAY!

Make sure you are registered so you can start practice TODAY. Registration is done through FeePay  If you have registration questions, please contact Mrs. Madigan in the Activities office.

  • Softball players - Practice starts at 3 p.m.  Meet in North Gym
  • Track & Field -Boys & Girls - Practice starts at 3 p.m. - Meet in Main Gym
  • Baseball players  - Practice starts at 5 p.m.  Meet in A/B Gym

Baseball preseason meeting/Potluck will be after practice on Monday March 12th, 6:30 PM in the Simley HS cafeteria. All High School players and parents are encouraged to attend.


 

Attention Prom Committee members: We will have our next meeting today, Tuesday, March 13th after school in Mrs. Martin's Classroom, EA 211.




Simley Boys Hockey - What a season to remember on and off the ice, 19-8-1 overall. We wrapped up at the 2017-2018 season with the following players earning the following recognition.

Most Valuable Player: James Royce:

Hobey Baker Character award: Kyle Roche

Most Dedicated: Jamie Warrick

Most Improved: Sam Fischer

JV Spartan Award: Henry Cleary

All Conference: Jamie Warrick and James Royce.

All Conference Honorable Mention: Robby Watson, Kyle Roche and Konnor Carlson.

The team was 2nd place in the conference with a average grade point average of 3.57

Congratulations to Coach Kryzer for being chosen as the Coach of the Year for the Metro East Conference and Section 4A.



Thank you Student Council and International Club members for hosting an awesome winter dance! Also, a special thank you to those who made donations to Neighbors Inc. and Harvest Pack. The following individuals should come claim their gift card prizes: Anna Cheyne, Rachael Gilomen, Rylie Gilomen, Noah Heiss, Zack Shively, Antonio Vela, and the grand winner of Wild tickets was Danielle Ungurian. Congratulations! Come to Ms. Ney's room (W214) to claim your prize.



 


The American Red Cross Blood Drive will be taking place at Simley on Friday April 6th!  Donors can sign up during all lunches starting this week.  Students 16 years old need to pick up a parent consent form prior to signing up.  Did you know? There is no blood substitute and still only one source for transfusion...VOLUNTEER BLOOD DONORS!  Any questions please see Ms Erdman or student volunteers at the blood drive table during all lunches.



Reminder to all juniors who will be taking the ACT on April 3rd.

The ZAPS ACT Test Prep Seminar will be held this  Saturday March 17th in the Spartan Center. Students will learn strategies and tips to improve scores for all subtests in the exam.  This course will also help students to gain confidence and reduce test anxiety. Attention Girls Swimmers & Divers - There will be a Girls Swim & Dive Meeting for grades 9-11 on Wednesday, March 14 @ 7:15 a.m. in Mrs. Walsh's Room EA208.




Attention Golfers, Spring is Almost Here!!

Attention Golfers! There will be an informational meeting for parents and athletes on Wednesday, March 14th at 6:30 PM in the Spartan Center at Simley High School for those wanting to try out for the boys or girls high school golf teams. Any student grades 7-12 is welcome to try out for the high school teams. Please visit the Golf website prior to the meeting http://www.simleygolf.com/index.html

Players in grades 6-8 have the option to participate in the Golf Boosters Middle School program which will begin on Monday, April 23. Those athletes participating in the Middle School program will have a meeting on Sunday, April 15th. More information will be posted soon. Please send any questions to [email protected].


The Simley All Night Party committee will be meeting Wednesday, March 14 at 6:30 p.m. outside the high school IMC.  All grade parents encouraged to attend to plan a night our seniors will remember.





Upcoming College Visits:

University of Wisconsin- Steven’s Point will be here on Tuesday, March 13th @ 9:30 AM. Please see Ms. Kimble to sign-up and get a pass for the visit.

Seniors: Reminder that there is a $45 grad fee that is due March 23. The payment can be made through Feepay or in the main office with Ms. Sievert. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Sievert.


 


All students interested in PSEO must schedule a short meeting with their counselor prior to Friday, March 23rd.  Please stop by the guidance office or email your counselor directly.




Simley’s Relay For Life will be taking place overnight from Friday April 27th to Saturday the 28th. We encourage all students, staff, and community members to participate in this amazing and impactful event. Interested in trying out for the 2018-2019 Simley Dance Team?  Tryouts for both the Fall Performance Team and the Winter Competitive Team will be held the week of March 19th.  Practices will be on Monday, March 19th and Tuesday, March 20th from 4-5pm and 5:30-6:30pm and Thursday, March 22nd from 5-6:15pm.  Dancers will know if they made the team before they leave practice on Thursday. Starting Wednesday, March 7th, Senior Hailey Scheffknecht will be collecting clothes for Neighbors Inc clothes closet for her NHS project. The box will be in the counseling office until Friday, March 16th.




Monday, March 12th will be the start of book drive held by Guresi Mena and Grace Bezek to donate to the Salvation Army. If you have any books to donate, please turn them into the boxes located in the Student Center and outside of the Nurses office. For any other questions, please contact Guresi or Grace and they would be happy to help.



 


Registration is now open for Spring Sports!  Register through Feepay. If your family has reached the fee maximum for the school year, contact Mrs. Madigan to adjust the fee prior to registering. Maximum activity fees per school year are

$290(1 participant per family), $400 (2 participants per family) and $500 (3 or more participants per family). The maximum fee applies to students in grades 6-12.

The start dates are:

March 6 - Adapted Bowling & Adapted Softball

March 12 - Boys & Girls Track, Baseball and Softball

March 19 - Boys & Girls Golf

March 26 - Boys Tennis

April 2 - Boys Lacrosse




 

Student Parking Lot- Only students with a Simley parking pass are allowed to park in the student lot. If you do not have a pass, you must park off campus. Students found parked in the

lot with a pass may be ticketed, booted etc. See Ms. Sievert in the main office if you have questions.



Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.
