If you are a senior planning to attend Inver Hills Community College next year and still need to take the Accuplacer placement test please see Ms. Kimble. The test will be offered at Simley on Thursday, May 17th at 8:30 AM.



We are taking a road trip to college! Simley students have the opportunity to join us for 1, 2, 3, or all 4 days as we road trip to local college campuses - all for free! Pick-up an application in the counseling office or career center and see Ms. Kimble with any questions!



If you are planning to take the College Algebra or College Composition CLEP exam next week at Simley please see Ms. Kimble by Friday, May 18th to sign-up! See your College Algebra, Comm 11, or Sociology teacher or Ms. Kimble with questions!



A reminder for students interested in PSEO for the 2018 - 2019 school year.  You must meet with your counselor PRIOR to May 30th to discuss the PSEO process.

There will be an informational meeting TONIGHT, Wednesday, May 16th at 6 p.m. in the Simley High School Spartan Center. If you have questions, please contact Coach Gerber at [email protected]  



Attention all female athletes!  Please clean out your athletic lockers as soon as possible.  Take your locks and items home. Lockers will be cleaned out starting May 25th and items will be donated to charity.  If your sport goes into the following week please let Mrs. Walsh know! Thanks!




Yesterday, the Boys & Girls Track teams competed at Hill-Murray against HM & Hastings.  Both teams finished 2nd to Hill Murray.

Girls Highlights include:

  • I’Tianna Salaam 3rd in the 200, 1st in the 400
  • Sophia Hollanitsch 2nd in the 400
  • Sarah Anaya was 1st in the 800, Emma Raab 2nd
  • Haley Pederson was 3rd in the 100 hurdles
  • Kate Carlson 3rd in the 300 hurdles, 2nd in the long jump
  • 4x100 team finished 1st while the 4x200 finished 2nd
  • Zoe Stone won the High Jump and Triple Jump, 3rd in the discus
  • Olivia Schmidt was 2nd in the High Jump
  • Erica Bacon was 3rd in the Long Jump
  • Clara Thomeke was 2nd in the Triple Jump
  • Guresi Mena was 2nd in the Shot Put and discus, Froya Hoegh-Krohn was 3rd and won the discus

Boys highlights include:

  • Malik Brown won the 100
  • Jamonte Franklin was 3rd in the 200
  • Grant Dilla won the 1600 and Tim Wilmot & Charlie Giese were 2nd and 3rd
  • Justin Sok won the 110 hurdles, Joe Mansour won the 300 hurdles and was 2nd in the 110 hurdles
  • Boys 4x200 won
  • Boys 4x400 of Sam Bigawabwa, Grant Dilla, Charlie Giese, and Tim Wilmot took 1st
  • Devon Richards won the Long Jump
  • Brandon Birkelo won the Shot Put and was 3rd in the Discus Throw
  • Noah Gilberg was 3rd in the Shot Put

ALL Students: Reminder that only students with parking passes are allowed to park in the lots. If you do not have a pass, you cannot park on school grounds.

 


The Maintenance Department is hiring seasonal summer workers to perform custodial and grounds duties District wide. It is a Monday-Friday position. The pay is $11 per hour. If you interested or have questions, apply online or talk to Chuck Wick in the high school during the day.


 

 

Spartan Trained Summer Speed & Strength Program - June 11 through August 10

For: Athletes entering grades 7-12.

Cost: $100.  The family max for fees is not applicable to the Summer programs.

Session Times:

    7:00-8:00 A.M.  - High school boys & girls entering 9th-12th grade

    8:00 - 9:00 A.M. - High School girls entering 9th-12th grade

    9:15 A.M. -10:15 A.M. - High School boys entering 9th-12th grade

   10:30 A.M.-11:30 A.M. - All middle school boys & girls entering 7th & 8th grade

Attention Seniors:  Each of you must complete a graduation survey.  A link to the survey can be found on Simley's homepage.  The survey allows us to track your post-high school plans as well as authorizes the release of your final transcript.  Please complete this as soon as possible. Final deadline is Friday, May 18.

Volunteers will be needed for set up on Thursday, June 7 with shifts starting at 5:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., as well as the night of the event, Friday, June 8 from 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.




Senior Parents/Guardians: Newsletter correction ~ The address to mail payments to purchase a ticket for the Senior All Night Party is 3042 96th Street E. If you did not receive a newsletter, they are available in the high school main office or guidance office.





Seniors - Your Senior Grad Fee is due!   Payments can be made on Fee Pay or in person to Ms. Sievert in the Main Office.




Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.
