Simley highlights from Day 2 of the Metro East Conference Track &

Field Championships:

Olivia Schmidt placed 4th and Zoe Stone was 5th in the Triple Jump

Carlo Sallis-Hamlin was 7th in the High Jump

In the girls 100 meter dash I'Tianna Salaam placed 5th, Kate Carlson 6th and

Aliah Jackson 7th

100 meter dash  - Devon Richards placed 2nd, Evan Johnson placed 3rd, and Alec Frederick placed 7th

110 hurdles-Justin Sok 2nd and Joe Mansour 7th

Brandon Birkelo placed 4th in Discus

1600 - Sarah Anaya 4th  & Brekken Grathen 8th

800 - Emma Raab 5th

1600 - Grant Dilla 8th

400 - Desean Thompson was 6th

Girls Shot Put - Freya Kroegh-Hohn 3rd, Guresi Mena 4th, and Abby Hepper 5th

300 hurdles - Hope Adebayo 2nd, Justin Sok 6th, and Joe Mansour 7th

Itianna Salaam was 3rd in the 400 with a new school record time of 58.67 seconds

Devon Richards conference champion in the Long Jump

and finally the squad of Kate Carlson, Aliah Jackson, Zoe Boughton,

and Rachel Anderson were conference champions in the girls 4x100 meter

relay.

Due to the weather that came in last night, the Conference Championships will be completed today with the 4x400 relays at Tartan H.S. at 4:00 p.m.




TRACK FUNDRAISER TOMORROW - Saturday, 5/26

Come support the Track & Field teams this Saturday at Jersey's from 12:00-3:00 p.m.  Eat all the tacos you want for $10. Talk to a track athlete for tickets.

Volunteers will be needed for set up on Thursday, June 7 with shifts starting at 5:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., as well as the night of the event, Friday, June 8 from 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Attention all female athletes!  Please clean out your athletic lockers as soon as possible.  Take your locks and items home. Lockers will be cleaned out starting May 25th and items will be donated to charity.  If your sport goes into the following week please let Mrs. Walsh know! Thanks!



SENIORS:  Advanced registration and payment of $40 is REQUIRED for the All Night Party!  Sign up TODAY, Thursday, May 24, Wednesday, May 30th and Thursday May 31st in the cafeteria between 11am-1pm!  Payment can also be mailed to a locked mailbox: "Simley All Night Party", 3042 96th Street E, IGH, MN  55077.  Please include unisex adult t-shirt size with payment.


 

Attention Gymnasts - Any girls interested in participating in the summer gymnastics camp, please see Ms. Young-Dahl in the Dean's office for information.



Soccer Managers Wanted | The Simley Boys and Girls soccer teams are looking for managers for the Fall 2018 season. Managers will help with game statistics as well as recording games. No soccer experience necessary. Managers are eligible for a Manager letter. If you are interested in being a team manager for the girls, please visit Coach Austin in her classroom (WA106) or email her at [email protected]. 2018 Simley Soccer Camp | All Fall 2018 Simley High soccer players should turn in their summer soccer camp registration ASAP. The boys’ soccer camp runs from 9-11 am on Monday, June 18, Wednesday, June 20, and Friday, June 22 with the top 18 players being invited to a scrimmage on Saturday, June 23. The girls’ soccer camp runs from 10-12 pm on July 9-12. All camp information and registration details can be found on the Simley Soccer website (www.simleysoccer.com).

We are taking a road trip to college! Simley students have the opportunity to join us for 1, 2, 3, or all 4 days as we road trip to local college campuses - all for free! Pick-up an application in the counseling office or career center and see Ms. Kimble with any questions!




A reminder for students interested in PSEO for the 2018 - 2019 school year.  You must meet with your counselor PRIOR to May 30th to discuss the PSEO process.  




ALL Students: Reminder that only students with parking passes are allowed to park in the lots. If you do not have a pass, you cannot park on school grounds.

 

 

 

Spartan Trained Summer Speed & Strength Program - June 11 through August 10

For: Athletes entering grades 7-12.

Cost: $100.  The family max for fees is not applicable to the Summer programs.

Session Times:

    7:00-8:00 A.M.  - High school boys & girls entering 9th-12th grade

    8:00 - 9:00 A.M. - High School girls entering 9th-12th grade

    9:15 A.M. -10:15 A.M. - High School boys entering 9th-12th grade

   10:30 A.M.-11:30 A.M. - All middle school boys & girls entering 7th & 8th grade

Seniors - Your Senior Grad Fee is due!   Payments can be made on Fee Pay or in person to Ms. Sievert in the Main Office.




Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.
