Simley Football begins their section playoffs TONIGHT here at Simley. Kickoff is at 6 p.m.  Tickets are $6 for Students and $8 for Adults. Passes are not accepted.



Come support your Simley volleyball team as they host a Section 3AAA match on Thursday, October 25, at 7 p.m.  The Spartans will play the winner of Tuesday's match between South St. Paul and Rosemount.  Since this is a Section game, no passes will be accepted. Admission prices are $8 for adults and $6 for students.  


Attention all Simley volleyball players on Varsity, Junior Varsity, B-Squad, and 9th Grade teams. There will be a mandatory meeting immediately after school on Wednesday, October 24th in the main gym to vote on team awards, turn in uniforms if you have not already done so, and a few other items. Please get to the gym as soon as possible.


Attention all girls interested in joining the Gymnastics team. There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, October 30th in Ms. Walsh’s Room EA 208 at 2:45. If you can’t make the meeting but are interested in joining please see Ms. Walsh or Ms. Young-Dahl for information.


Interested in Nordic skiing? There will be an informational meeting on Thursday, Oct. 25th at 7:25am in Ms. Sedler's room (WA111). Nordic skiing is open to all students in grades 7th-12th and there is no experience necessary. Contact Coach Anderson ([email protected]) or Coach Sedler ([email protected]) if you are unable to make the meeting.


Attention Boy’s hockey players:

Captain’s practice starts Thursday, November 1st.

  1. Ice times are 3:00-4:30 p.m.
  2. You must be registered through Fee Pay (On-line through the school activities website) by Oct.31st or else you will not be allowed on the ice.
  3. Cost is $100. Bring a check written to the BLC on the first day.
  4. A bus leaves everyday from door 26 ( behind middle school at 2:40 p.m.
  5. You can leave your equipment in the Simley Athletic office during the day.

All JV & Middle School Cross Country runners not competing at sections need to return their uniforms to Coach Gerber.  Practice today is meeting in his room, WA216 at 3:00 p.m.


Simley Robotics season is starting TODAY, Tuesday, October 23 and there will be an informational meeting for any student grades 9-12 who is interested in joining the FIRST Robotics team. The meeting will be immediately after school in room EA109 (by athletic office). Robotic will meet every Tuesday and Thursday for the months of October, November and December for 2:45 to 4:30. January starts the official build season and robotics will meet Monday – Fridays from 2:45 to 5:00 and on Saturdays from 8:00 to 4:00. If you are unable to stop by on Tuesday, stop by the Ind. Simley Alpine Ski Team Meeting

If you are interested in joining Simley Alpine Ski Team this year, plan to attend the preseason meeting TODAY, Tuesday, October 23rd at 7 p.m. in the Spartan Center. Alpine Ski is open to all girls & boys in grades 7-12. The season begins in November and ends in early February. It’s a great way to enjoy the Winter months. If you are unable to attend the meeting but are interested, please contact Coach Nelson at [email protected]  



Any student interested in joining Math team, there will be a brief meeting TODAY, Tuesday, October 23 after school in room WA 226.  Information and schedules will be distributed at this meeting.  If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Gingerich.



Attention Girls Basketball Players - If you are interested in joining basketball this coming season, there is a meeting TOMORROW, Wednesday, October 24 at 7:15 a.m. in the main gym. If you have any questions, contact Coach Stensgard at [email protected]



Attention all boys and girls Varsity Soccer players -  your uniform and bag is to be handed in TOMORROW, Wednesday, October 24 right after school in the cafeteria.  Simley Soccer boosters and coaches will provide pizza and water for the varsity players.

A representative from the following colleges will be visiting Simley at the specified dates and times. If you are interested in learning more about a college and hearing from an admission representative from their school, sign-up and get a pass from Ms. Kimble in the Student Center.

Want to be part of a FUN winning team? The BOYS SWIMMING AND DIVING Middle School & High School teams are having a short Informational MEETING on Monday. Oct. 29th  at 2:45 p.m. in *Middle School lunchroom* The teams are open to all boys 6-12th grade. This meeting is a chance to meet the team and coaches and get all the paperwork your son will need to join a school sport.  The Boys Swimming & Diving Season is a winter sport and begins Monday, Nov. 26th. NOTE: this meeting is for the ATHLETES ONLY.   Parents are more than welcome to attend, but they do not need to attend this meeting.  There is a parent’s meeting scheduled for Dec. 4th.  For more information please email Coach Lynn Newton at [email protected]


 

ACT PREP COURSES

Get prepared for your ACT Test! This class provides an introduction to the ACT format, strategies for answering questions and instruction for the specific subject areas tested. Focal points of the program include diagnostic testing, vocabulary development, intensive mathematical review, reading comprehension improvement, and anxiety and time management. Students who complete a course may repeat it as often as they wish in future offerings – free of charge. All class materials are included in the tuition fee. Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.
