The Gifted and Talented Advisory Council (GTAC) provides an opportunity for active community participation in supporting and understanding the district’s gifted and talented programs K-12. The council provides input to the Department of Learning and administration on gifted/talented programming efforts that support district and board goals, policies and initiatives. The purpose of the GTAC is to:
- Review and learn about gifted and talented learners, program processes, and options
- Provide feedback on program ideas and implementation
- Serve as a liaison and information resource to their school's parent or school organizations
- Advocate for gifted programming in the school and community
