Pine Bend WordMasters Earn Highest Honors for 2020-2021 Season

WordMastersChallenge.comPine Bend Elementary School’s WordMasters Challenge participants have had an incredible year! At each meet, Pine Bend students have solved analogy puzzles far above grade level and earned impressive scores. In their third and final meet of the school year, Pine Bend’s 3rd-grade team scored 168 points out of a possible 200, placing 9th in the nation.

Their work in the last meet secured them Highest Honors for the 2021-2022 school year competition overall. The team earned 8th place nationally in the overall competition because of their cumulative score of 522 points out of the 600 points possible during the season.

After the third meet, Pine Bend 3rd grader Mila Sarver also earned Highest Honors. During the season’s three meets, she earned a cumulative score of 59 points out of a possible 60 points in the difficult Blue Division.

Also in the difficult Blue Division, 3rd grader Violet Snodgrass and 5th grader Nina Peabody earned outstanding scores during the final meet. Fourth grader Finn Christman scored highly in the very difficult Gold Division.

Students were coached by Pine Bend teachers Nancy Gagne, Sammy Kostuch, Ben Peine, and Amy Williams. Congratulations to all of the students and coaches on their great work this season!
