www.ncwit.orgSimley High School sophomore Abigail Tabor and junior Anna Tighe have been selected as Rising Stars for the 2022 Minnesota Aspirations in Computing Award. The Minnesota Aspirations in Computing Program (MNAiC) offers events and activities to inspire and empower students in high school to become our next best Minnesota-grown technology talent. MNAiC partners with the National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT) to offer the Aspirations in Computing Award and support high school students who identify as women, genderqueer, or non-binary in realizing their computing-related education and career aspirations.

This year, national and state review teams chose 110 honorees. Awards recognized each honoree’s technology skills, achievements, and aspirations. Review teams looked at each nominee’s engagement in a variety of technology and leadership experiences provided by their high school, community partners, and through online learning experiences. Honorees will be recognized in ceremonies this spring, and they will be awarded exclusive resources through NCWIT as well as mentoring, job shadow, internship, and college scholarship opportunities.

Congratulations to Abigail and Anna on being selected as MNAiC Rising Stars!
