Get Involved

A volunteer stands at the front of a classroom holing a plant while a student listens from his desk and a high school volunteer sits next to him smiling

ISD 199's mission is "Inspire. Innovate. Excel. A Community Commitment." Not only does the district strive to prepare students for success personally and professionally, we also focus on engaging the community in our teaching. ISD 199 is always looking for opportunities to partner with professionals and businesses in the community to give students a first-hand look at different careers. We are also excited to share our stories and plans with the community that has shown us so much support over the years.

Community members can apply for volunteer positions, advisory councils, and more to get involved in the district. They can also select from an array of enriching, informative community education classes for all ages.

Volunteer Corps

ISD 199 has a variety of community volunteers who help create a positive learning environment and assist students so that they can work toward reaching their fullest potential.

All classroom and field trip volunteers will need to complete a volunteer application and a background check prior to being allowed in the classroom. A background check is required for volunteers going on field trips and volunteering in classrooms. There is an $18 fee due at the time of application. If you are unsure of whether a background check is required, please contact the school where you will be volunteering.

Committees & Advisory Councils

The district has various opportunities for involvement on committees and/or advisory councils. A survey has been developed for those interested in applying for selection on a committee and/or advisory council. The questions are asked to understand current levels of involvement, demographic information to ensure appropriate representation across the district, and an understanding of the individual's interest and background for the preferred involvement opportunity.

This survey is always open and memberships are reviewed as positions become available.

Donate

Every year, ISD 199 students benefit from the kindness of our donors. One way you can assist in the development of a student's education is to make a contribution that will fund scholarships, academic programs, professional development, technology, and more.

The choice to donate time, talent, or funds and knowing that you helped further a child's education and opportunities can be one of the most gratifying in life.

Parent Organizations

Our parent groups host events, recognize our teachers, gather and direct donations to supplement school needs, and so much more. The support they provide to our staff shows how valuable they are, and we wouldn’t be able to put on many of our fun, community-focused events without them.

Our PTSAs, PTOs, and boosters meet regularly throughout the year. Parents can contact their child's school or sports team to learn more about parent groups and volunteering, or use the links below:
