P
REVENTATIVE MEASURES
Medical experts indicate that the best ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19 are the same recommendations for preventing the spread of the seasonal flu:
Wash hands
: Remind children to wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, they can use a hand sanitizer, which is available in our classrooms, cafeterias, and learning spaces to encourage hand hygiene.
Cover coughs and sneezes
: Remind children to cover any coughs or sneezes with a tissue, throw the tissue away, and wash their hands. If a tissue is not available, they should use the inside of their elbow to cover their mouth and nose.
Stay home when sick
: Keep your child home when they are sick. The CDC has identified fever, a cough, and shortness of breath as symptoms of COVID-19. Though these may be symptoms of a seasonal cold or flu, children should stay home, avoiding contact with others, and parents should seek medical advice if their child develops these symptoms. For more information about when your child should stay home, see the Minnesota Department of Health's
Attendance Guide for Parent and Families
and use the
Home Screening Tool
.
For more information about the disease, please visit
MDH’s COVID-19 webpage
.

EDIDAS PREVENTIVAS
