Board Meeting Procedures During the COVID-19 Pandemic

NOTICE:
The ISD 199 Board of Education, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 13D.021, will follow the guidance from the Minnesota School Boards Association, Minnesota Department of Health, and Center for Disease Control to prevent the spread of COVID-19 for conducting School Board Meetings.
The School Board shall provide the Inver Grove Heights Middle School IMC, located at 8167 Cahill Avenue, as a place where the public may listen and address the board at a regular board meeting on agenda items only. All requests to address the board at a regular board meeting must be submitted prior to the meeting’s scheduled start time. The public may also attend school board work sessions in observance only.
To abide by social distancing and other community mitigation orders, individuals should keep as much distance from other individuals as possible and may be asked to move to another listening location or leave voluntarily if unable to comply with safety guidelines in the interest of attendee safety.
In order to ensure public safety, the following procedures are in effect for all ISD 199 School Board Meetings:
Seating capacity requirements will be enforced for social distancing.
Masks will be recommended but not required.
Safety precautions will be put in place for the safety of all attendees.
Overflow capacity will be directed to another space within the building where the meeting will be broadcast.
Once overall capacity is reached in both the board meeting space and overflow space, additional attendees will not be permitted into the building.
If the board meeting space is at capacity, citizen comment speakers in the overflow space will be allowed to enter the meeting room when called and must leave the meeting room after speaking.
Proper decorum will be expected of all attendees. Those not following guidelines or adhering to procedures may be asked to leave the building.
