Advanced Placement (AP) classes challenge students with college-level coursework and provide an opportunity to earn college credit before graduation. Students take exams at the end of the year, which are scored on a 0-5 scale, to qualify for college credit. Each year, students are recognized for earning outstanding scores of 3 or higher on multiple AP exams. Simley High School had 43 students earn AP Scholar Awards in three categories for the 2022-2023 school year.
AP Scholar Award: Earned scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams.

In addition to high participation in rigorous concurrent enrollment courses, more than half of Simley’s students took at least one AP course during the 2022-2023 school year. Simley is proud to have so many students participating in AP and other college-level courses and to see the more than 1,000 students who have earned AP Scholar awards for their outstanding work since 2019. Great job to the students who took multiple AP classes and scored highly on their exams!
