This month, Hilltop Elementary School held a Literacy Night for all families. The event featured local children’s book author Sarah Warren. She talked to students about using their talents to succeed and read her book “Beyoncé: Shine Your Light” to students and families. Afterward, students helped Ms. Warren write a story about her dog friend Bowser. Students took the storyboard and wrote their own story with their families. At the end of the night, each family took home age-appropriate books to read together thanks to the Friends of Inver Glen Library.
