3D Game Programming (Grades 6-8)

Using Alice, an innovative 3D programming software, students will design an interactive gamer story. This object-oriented program is fun and challenging, as students discover the art of video game programming using 3D graphics in a virtual world.  Students working in pairs will learn the basics of making objects and characters that move and react in a virtual 3D World. Games created in class will be available online, or students can bring in a USB drive for immediate access.  The software is available to download at home.

“YOU CAN’T TAKE IT WITH YOU” TICKETS ARE NOW ON SALE

Tickets for Simley Theatre’s Fall Performance of “You Can’t Take it With You” are now on sale!

At first the Sycamores seem mad, but it is not long before we realize that if they are mad, the rest of the world is madder. In contrast to these delightful people are the unhappy Kirbys. The plot shows how Tony, attractive young son of the Kirbys, falls in love with Alice Sycamore and brings his parents to dine at the Sycamore home on the wrong evening. The shock sustained by the Kirbys, who are invited to eat cheap food, shows Alice that marriage with Tony is out of the question. The Sycamores, however, though sympathetic to Alice, find it hard to realize her point of view.

Tickets can be purchased in advance by visiting www.simleytheatre.org. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens and $3 for children (under 5 years old).

This includes all middle school events as well as any high school events including the varsity football games. We will turn students away at the door if they are not with an adult. Please know that a parent cannot just drop a student off for the night. They must buy a ticket and be in attendance during the event.
