Good morning IGHMS families,

With the weather turning colder, more and more families are driving their student to school. This increases congestion in the parking lot as well as increases safety concerns. All adults who drop students off at school must pull in front of the school in order to drop off the child onto the sidewalk. Please do not pull into a parking spot and allow your child to get out and walk through the parking lot! We have had a few close calls with students almost getting hit by drivers pulling through parking spots. This also increases the congestion which ultimately slows everyone down.

Everyone's time is valuable but student safety is more valuable! We ask all drivers to follow these expectations so our students make it to school safely.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Thank you for your cooperation!

 Jodi Wendel, Principal

Career Day for 8th Grade Students 2/16/18

We are looking for community members to help educate our students on different career options and hope that you will consider partnering with us on the morning of Friday, February 16th.  This event usually runs from approximately 7:30-9:30 in the morning. You will be asked to give a 20 minute presentation to 3-4 different groups of students about your career. Your presence is a great example of the partnership that schools and communities can share; and will assist our students in making better, more informed choices in school and in life after school.

If you are able to help out, please send an email to [email protected]   or [email protected] with a short description of your job, and your preferred method of communication. We will provide more detailed information closer to the date of the Career Day. Thank you for considering volunteering your time to IGHMS!

Attendance information

Attendance at school is very important to a student’s success. We realize that at times students must miss school. If your child is going to miss school please call the attendance line as soon as possible at 651-306-7878 and leave a message with your child’s name and grade. If a student misses 2 or more days we can request make-up work.

* If you are picking your child up from school early, please send a note with your child to the office in the morning. It can be a distraction to the class if we have to quickly get a child out of class.  Thank you for your understanding!

Save your Boxtops, Milk Moola and Loaves4Learning!

Each year the PTSA hosts a collection contest starting in January, so start collecting these at home now!

This is the easiest and biggest fundraiser we host.  We won't ask you to sell anything, so take this opportunity to contribute!

An Important Reminder for all students & parents…

All students must be accompanied by an adult in order to attend any home athletic events. This includes all middle school events as well as any high school events. We will turn students away at the door if they are not with an adult. Please know that a parent cannot just drop a student off for the night. They must buy a ticket and be in attendance during the event.
