PTSA is raising money to buy clipboards for Math! IGHMS Math Department would like to incorporate more movement and collaborative activities into daily lessons, and need additional funds to purchase a classroom set of inexpensive clipboards for every math classroom. If you would like to help, there will be a "MATH CLIPBOARD FUND" box at the Book Fair to accept cash or check donations during Conferences this week. Thank you for your support!

Dance News

We are honored to host Dancers Against Cancer through Alex’s Lemonade Stand!  Please join the Simley Dance Team at our home Invitational on Saturday, January 27th, from 10 am to 5 pm as we support this wonderful fundraising opportunity and honor local cancer fighters Joelle & Payton.  Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation donates its proceeds to help change the lives of children who are fighting childhood cancers through research, raising awareness and supporting families.  We are so excited to announce that Eva Igo (runner up on the World of Dance Competition and one of our hometown favorite dancers) will be at our booth for a meet and greet from 4-4:45 pm offering pictures and autographs for a donation of $5 (all the proceeds go to Alex’s Lemonade Stand).  If we reach our goal of at least $1,500 on Saturday she will perform one of her dances for us!  Hope to see you there!

Save the Date! The B.E.S.T.  Foundation Dinner is March 17th, 2018.  The event this year has an Irish theme. The dinner is a fundraiser event for scholarships that are awarded to students who attend Simley High School.  We hope to see you there!

Career Day for 8th Grade Students 2/16/18

We are looking for community members to help educate our students on different career options and hope that you will consider partnering with us on the morning of Friday, February 16th.  This event usually runs from approximately 7:30-9:30 in the morning. You will be asked to give a 20 minute presentation to 3-4 different groups of students about your career. Your presence is a great example of the partnership that schools and communities can share; and will assist our students in making better, more informed choices in school and in life after school.

If you are able to help out, please send an email to [email protected]   or [email protected] with a short description of your job, and your preferred method of communication. We will provide more detailed information closer to the date of the Career Day. Thank you for considering volunteering your time to IGHMS!

Attendance information

Attendance at school is very important to a student’s success. We realize that at times students must miss school. If your child is going to miss school please call the attendance line as soon as possible at 651-306-7878 and leave a message with your child’s name and grade. If a student misses 2 or more days we can request make-up work.

* If you are picking your child up from school early, please send a note with your child to the office in the morning. It can be a distraction to the class if we have to quickly get a child out of class.  Thank you for your understanding!

An Important Reminder for all students & parents…

All students must be accompanied by an adult in order to attend any home athletic events. This includes all middle school events as well as any high school events. We will turn students away at the door if they are not with an adult. Please know that a parent cannot just drop a student off for the night. They must buy a ticket and be in attendance during the event.
