Attention Parents: This is a reminder that the deadline to fix any trimester 3 scheduling issues is March 1st. There will be no changes made once the trimester begins.

Also a reminder that teacher requests and convenience changes will not be honored. Trimester 3 schedules can now be viewed on Campus Portals.




Reminder to all students: TOMORROW during homeroom you will be able to check your trimester 3 schedule in your Infinite Campus portal.


If you do not have your account set up, please set it up so you can view your schedule on Wednesday.  If you don't know how to access Infinite Campus, instructions will be provided during homeroom.


Schedules WILL NO LONGER be printed and handed out for you to review prior to the start of a new trimester.  You will be expected to view it in your Campus portal and get any errors fixed prior to the start of a new trimester.  A printed copy of your FINAL T3 schedule will be provided on the first day of the trimester only.





A scholarship seminar will be held this Thursday, February 15th @ 9:30 AM in the Student Center. The director of The College Place, a local nonprofit organization, will be presenting strategies, tips, and tricks for getting scholarships. All seniors are welcome to attend- sign-up and get a pass from Ms. Kimble.



The Simley Alpine Ski Team finished their regular season this past Friday with a conference meet at Buck Hill.  The boys team had their best finish of the season with strong runs by almost every racer.  Emmit Nelson led the way with a first place finish which qualified him for the state tournament which will be held on Wednesday, February 14th at Giant’s Ridge in Bawabik.  The girls team also had some great runs but due to injuries did not finish as strong.  Sarah Anaya led the way for the girls with a sixth place finish.  




Please join us for a Theatre Boosters meeting TONIGHT 6:30 PM in the Simley IMC! We will be planning our support for the spring musical, Wizard of Oz. All parents of theatre students and anyone who wants to help support the theatre program is welcome to attend.



ATTENTION FALL 2018 SIMLEY SOCCER PLAYERS

·BOYS SOCCER:  Please mark your calendars for Coach Dayus’ summer soccer camp on Monday, June 18 (9-11 am) and Wednesday, June 20 (9-11 am). The top 18 players will then be invited to a three-game tournament June 23-24 at Rich Valley.

·GIRLS SOCCER:  Please mark your calendars for Coach Austin’s summer soccer camp July 9-July 12 from 10 am-Noon.

·More information about both of these camps will be given at the coach/player meeting in April.

The gymnastics team will host the 4A section Meet on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. Ms. Walsh needs helpers to set up the gymnastics equipment in main gym on Friday night and Saturday night from 8-10pm. If you would like to help and get a pizza lunch on Tuesday @ school let her know to get on the "super helpers" list!  



REMINDER - The Simley Trap (not track) team will be having a registration/parent meeting TONIGHT, Tuesday, February 13th from 6-8 p.m. in Spartan Center at Simley High School.   

6-6:45 p.m. - Registration and merchandise table will be open

6:45-7:20 p.m. - Required meeting for all athletes and parents

7:20-8:00 p.m. - New athlete/parent meeting

Registration and merchandise table will be open until 8:00 p.m.?

Spartan Girls Basketball Senior night this Friday, February 16!  Courtney, Guresi and Kayla will be honored after the JV game and before varsity warm-ups start so come early and dress in black as we support the team with a Senior Black Out!!  Please join the team in the lobby after the 7pm varsity game to celebrate these special players!  All are welcome!




The girls hockey team advances to the semi final section game TONIGHT at Woog Arena.  The puck drops at 6:00 PM.  The girls will face the number one seed St. Paul United.  Stop out to cheer them on as the attempt to advance to the section championship on Thursday.



Congratulations to the Simley Dance Team, as they will be advancing to the State Dance Team Tournament in both Jazz and High Kick!  The State Tournament will take place this Friday, February 16th and Saturday, February 17th at the Target Center.  The AA Competition begins at 2 p.m. both days.  Come cheer on and support the Simley Dance Team!     


 

For their NHS project , Jamie Warrick and Jake Binley, are planning a Food Drive for Neighbors Inc. on February 13th at the hockey game against South St. Paul. Jake Binley’s food drive is going to be Feb.27 at the Spartan vs Mahtomedi basketball game. They are hoping to have parents and students donate non-perishable food items when they come for the JV or Varsity games. A donation table will be at both events. Any donation allows you to enter in a drawing to win a $25 hometown meats gift card.

Additionally, they will be taking cash donations for those that want to help out; chuck-a-puck fund proceeds will be donated as well.

The Inver Grove Heights Baseball Assoc is currently accepting registrations for the upcoming 2018 VFW/Legion season. Keep playing and improving all summer long with Coach Hendrikson and his staff. Have any new, old or gently used tennis shoes that you don’t need?  Seniors Matthew Baumann and Nick Molstad are doing a shoe drive through an organization called Angel Bins during the month of February. If you have any shoes that you would like to donate, just drop them off in the Guidance office.



The Snowball Dance will take place on Saturday, February 24, 7:30-10:00 p.m. in Cahill Court. Tickets will be sold the week before the dance: Tuesday, February 20 through Friday, February 23 for $10. They will be $15 at the door on Saturday, February 24. Tickets can be purchased at the door the night of the dance for $15. If you would like to bring a guest from another school, guest contracts are available in the Guidance Office. Signed contracts are due back to Ms. Klukas no later than Wednesday, February 21.



February is Black History Month, which is about coming together as a community to remember and celebrate black history.  This year, Simley will be hosting the Sounds of Color, where students of all backgrounds can come together to celebrate black history through music. The Sounds of Color event will take place on Thursday, February 15th from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the PAC. We encourage you to be a part of this celebration.


Seniors: Reminder that there is a $45 grad fee that is due March 23. The payment can be made through Feepay. If you have any questions, see Ms. Sievert in the main office.

 

 

Student Parking Lot- Only students with a Simley parking pass are allowed to park in the student lot. If you do not have a pass, you must park off campus. Students found parked in the

lot with a pass may be ticketed, booted etc. See Ms. Sievert in the main office if you have questions.



Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.
