Ms. Barnard’s after school class is CANCELLED today.



Due to the school cancellation yesterday, the B.E.S.T Foundation Scholarship application deadline has been extended to TODAY, Tuesday, March 6th at 3:00 P.M. Seniors must apply by the deadline to be considered and can apply online at: www.ighbestfoundation.com. Please see Ms. Kimble on Tuesday with any questions.


Attention Wrestlers - There will be a meeting today March 6th at 2:45PM in the wrestling room for all middle school and High School wrestlers. Please make every effort to attend. If you have questions, contact Mr. Short.




Spartan Boys Hockey ended their season Friday night, falling to Mahtomedi 3-6. The season overall record was 19-8-1. The boys did great things on the ice and also in our community. Keep holding your heads high and be proud! Thank you to the band and all our fans! We had a great season!



Snow Ball Dance is this Friday, March 9. Ticket sales will resume this week during all three lunches for $10 and tickets can also be purchased at the dance on Friday for $15.




Attention Boys Tennis Players!  There is a preseason meeting on Wednesday, March 7th at 2:40 p.m. in the Spartan Center.  The season starts Monday, March 26th.




Congratulations to Girls Basketball team for their 58-54 win over St. Croix Lutheran. The team will be playing in the section championship on Thursday, March 8th at 7 p.m. at Bloomington Jefferson High School. Tickets are $6 for students and $8 for adults.



The Boys Basketball team begins their section tournament on Wednesday, March 7th at 7 p.m. at Simley. The Spartans will be playing the Red Wing Wingers.  Tickets are $6 for students and $8 for adults. Passes are not accepted for section games.




Attention all High School Baseball Players and Parents,  There will be an informational meeting/Potluck for the upcoming 2018 Simley baseball season on Monday March 12th, 6:30 PM in the Simley HS cafeteria. All High School players and parents are encouraged to attend.




Starting Wednesday, March 7th, Senior Hailey Scheffknecht will be collecting clothes for Neighbors Inc clothes closet for her NHS project. The box will be in the counseling office until Friday, March 16th.




Monday, March 12th will be the start of book drive held by Guresi Mena and Grace Bezek to donate to the Salvation Army. If you have any books to donate, please turn them into the boxes located in the Student Center and outside of the Nurses office. For any other questions, please contact Guresi or Grace and they would be happy to help.

Seniors: Reminder that there is a $45 grad fee that is due March 23. The payment can be made through Feepay or in the main office with Ms. Sievert. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Sievert.


 


All students interested in PSEO must schedule a short meeting with their counselor prior to Friday, March 23rd.  Please stop by the guidance office or email your counselor directly.



Interested in trying out for the 2018-2019 Simley Dance Team?  Tryouts for both the Fall Performance Team and the Winter Competitive Team will be held the week of March 19th.  Practices will be on Monday, March 19th and Tuesday, March 20th from 4-5pm and 5:30-6:30pm and Thursday, March 22nd from 5-6:15pm.  Dancers will know if they made the team before they leave practice on Thursday.  Please email us at [email protected] with any questions.     




The ZAPS ACT Test Prep Seminar will be held on Saturday, March 17th in the Spartan Center. Students will learn strategies and tips to improve scores for all subtests in the exam.  This course will also help students to gain confidence and reduce test anxiety.  Students may register online at www.dorwaytocollege.com


 


Registration is now open for Spring Sports!  Register through Feepay. If your family has reached the fee maximum for the school year, contact Mrs. Madigan to adjust the fee prior to registering. Maximum activity fees per school year are

$290(1 participant per family), $400 (2 participants per family) and $500 (3 or more participants per family). The maximum fee applies to students in grades 6-12.

The start dates are:

March 6 - Adapted Bowling & Adapted Softball

March 12 - Boys & Girls Track, Baseball and Softball

March 19 - Boys & Girls Golf

March 26 - Boys Tennis

April 2 - Boys Lacrosse





A group of nine seniors are hosting Relay For Life on Friday April 27th, 2018, here at Simley High School. They would like to encourage all students, staff, and community members to participate in the event. Together we can beat cancer once and for all!



ATTENTION FALL 2018 SIMLEY SOCCER PLAYERS

·BOYS SOCCER:  Please mark your calendars for Coach Dayus’ summer soccer camp on Monday, June 18 (9-11 am) and Wednesday, June 20 (9-11 am). The top 18 players will then be invited to a three-game tournament June 23-24 at Rich Valley.

·GIRLS SOCCER:  Please mark your calendars for Coach Austin’s summer soccer camp July 9-July 12 from 10 am-Noon.

·More information about both of these camps will be given at the coach/player meeting in April.

·If you want to be added to the Simley Soccer Boosters mailing list to be kept up-to-date on future soccer happenings, please send an email with contact information to [email protected].



 

Student Parking Lot- Only students with a Simley parking pass are allowed to park in the student lot. If you do not have a pass, you must park off campus. Students found parked in the

lot with a pass may be ticketed, booted etc. See Ms. Sievert in the main office if you have questions.



Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.
