Simley Announcements 5-4-18
Published on May 4, 2018 14:39

Attention current Student Council and International Club members, the Valleyfair field trip will be Saturday, May 19. If you are interested in attending, see Ms. Ney or Ms. Sedler for a permission form.

It was a good day for the Simley girls golf team at the Mid-Conference tournament at Keller Golf Club. The Simley six put together their best performance so far this season, and narrowly missed first place in the tournament, coming up just 5 strokes short of a very talented Hill-Murray team. The second place finish puts Simley firmly in contention for the conference title, with many conference matches yet to play. Eighth grader Isabella McCauley led the way for the Spartans, firing a school record 71 highlighted by three straight birdies on the front nine. The one under par round sealed medalist honors for McCauley, and etched her name in the Simley record books. Steady play from senior Mackenzie Sullivan, a chip-in birdie from junior captain Rachael Wolfe, and towering drives from sophomore Anna Ahern helped secure the second place finish for the team. The spartans return to action on Monday against North St. Paul.
