Each fall the Friends and Family of IGHMS (formerly PTSA) organizes a book fair.  This event gives students a chance to purchase books that are currently popular as well as to raise funds for teachers to purchase books for their classrooms and for the library to  update its offerings.  The book fair raises hundreds of dollars annually for these purposes, but is not possible without the effort of many volunteers.

BESTWith fall and the start of school, families are contemplating their older student’s future. Seniors in high school are starting to make decisions on further education and families are wondering how to make that happen. Are you aware that Inver Grove Heights has a foundation that raises, manages, and awards scholarship funds to Simley graduating seniors? The foundation is called the Inver Grove Heights B.E.S.T. Foundation and this past year we were able to award 117 scholarships totaling $168,628.00. We’d like to invite you to partner with us through volunteerism, donations, and attendance at our events. In the spring we will hold a Dinner and Silent Auction and a May Day 5K walk/run. Next summer, we will hold a golf tournament. If you are contemplating where to direct your United Way funds through work, consider selecting the Inver Grove Heights B.E.S.T. Foundation. Many companies will match contributions, so remember to ask for a match if available! To learn more about the Foundation feel free to visit our website at www.ighbestfoundation.com or email us at [email protected]. Go Spartans!

Sports Schedules

All high school & middle school sports schedules are available at www.metroeastconference.org  -  select Simley. The Metro East Conference website is the most accurate & up to date schedule available. There are also several valuable features available to parents/guardians/athletes on this website.

  • View the daily calendar of activities
  • View Schedules for all sports in the high school and middle school
  • Select a location on the calendar or schedule & get the address & map for other schools where our athletes are competing
  • Mobile App Information
  • Notify Me - Select the sports that your student is in and receive notifications of schedule/location changes

An Important Reminder for all students & parents

All students must be accompanied by a Parent/Guardian in order to attend any home athletic events. This includes all middle school events as well as any high school events. We will turn students away at the door if they are not with a Parent/Guardian. Please know that a Parent/Guardian cannot just drop a student off for the night. They must buy a ticket and be in attendance during the event.
