The Simley Boys’ basketball team had a quick turnaround following Friday night’s victory as they battled Southwest Christian High School(Chaska) in the Southside Super Showcase at Roseville High School. The Spartans jumped on the Stars from the opening tip, quickly opening a double digit lead they would never relinquish. The team held Southwest to 17 first half points en route to a 76-42 win. 12 players saw action for Simley in the win. The boys travel to North St. Paul next Tuesday for the conference game of the season looking to improve on their 4-1 record. Go Spartans!

The Spartans Girls Basketball team got back on the winning track by driving down the road and playing St. Croix Lutheran on Saturday. The Spartans jumped out to an early 24-14 lead by playing great defense and executing well on offense. However, St. Croix came back by making some 3’s while Simley’s shots were rolling in and then out. Simley played a solid 2nd half and played with good patience and secured the 59-45 win. Free throw shooting was key in the 2nd half as Simley went 10 for 12.  Sydney Stensgard led Simley with 20, followed by Tiwaah Danso with 17 and Nikole Gullerud with 14.

Congratulations to Simley Wrestling team for placing 1st at the Minnesota Christmas Tournament held in Rochester.
