New Announcements

All after school targeted services are canceled today

 

BOX TOPS - Deadline Extension

Please bring Box Tops, Tyson Project A+, Loaves for Learning, and Milk Moola in to your Advisor class and place them in the bag between now and Thursday, February 21st.  The Advisor class in each grade (6th, 7th, 8th) that collects the most items (each label or box top will count as one item) will earn a pizza party. Remember to gather them up at your house and ask your friends, neighbors and family to help you out! Money received by the parent group from these refunding programs goes to you and your teachers and classrooms. Do you part and help us help you!

 

Simley Trap Reminder: Parent meeting TUESDAY NIGHT, FEBRUARY 12th in the Simley Spartan Center. The time is broken into the following sessions:

6:00-6:30 Trap Informational Session New or interested parents and athletes

6:00-6:40 Returning athletes registration

6:40 – 7:30 2019 Spring Season Overview

7:30 – 8:00 Q&A plus registration continued for returning athletes

THEATRE NEWS:

There is a MANDATORY spring musical meeting for all cast and crew and at least 1 parent/guardian per family on TUES FEB 12 at 5:30 PM in the Performing Arts Center. 

 

Students interested in technical crew: meet in the PAC on Tues Feb 12 after school and stay for the mandatory meeting. 

 

A Simley Theatre Booster Club meeting will follow the mandatory meeting. Please join us at 6:30 on 2/12 in the PAC.

Continuing Announcements

 

 

Students that are interested in joining the AVID Elective class next fall need to submit their AVID application by March 4th. Interviews will take place the week before Spring Break. Students can pick up an AVID application in the Main Office or the Counseling Office.  If you have any questions please contact our AVID Coordinator, Jen Moe, at [email protected] or 651-306-7303.

 

 

NHS at Simley High School announces a Teens for Jeans Drive- Feb. 4th- Feb. 22nd Donate any size of gently used jeans for homeless shelters in the IGH community.  Please drop jeans off at the donation box in the main office at IGHMS or Simley High School.

 

Yearbooks

There is still time to order your 2018-2019 Yearbook. All orders are online only. Order a yearbook by visiting: https://ybpay.lifetouch.com  School ID: 7768919

Cost: $25 for a standard book.  Ordering ends April 1st, 2019

 

Attendance Reminders:

Please call the attendance line 651-306-7878 when your student will be absent.

  • If you need to pick up your student before the end of the school day, please have your student bring a note to the office. Please include the name, if not a parent, of the person picking up your student. Your student will receive a pass to show their teacher. You must come into the office, show identification, and sign out your student.
  • If your student is not feeling well at school, they are to see the nurse, they should NOT text or call home.

The nurse will assess the illness and call the parent as needed.

Excused absences and Tardies include: illness, appointments, funerals, religious observances, and vacations.

Unexcused absences and Tardies include:  oversleeping, missing the bus, traffic and other reasons without parent communication to the office.

All high school & middle school sports schedules are available at www.metroeastconference.org  -  select Simley. The Metro East Conference website is the most accurate & up to date schedule available. There are also several valuable features available to parents/guardians/athletes on this website.

*Important Reminder for all students & parents

All students must be accompanied by a Parent/Guardian in order to attend any home athletic events. This includes all middle school events as well as any high school events. We will turn students away at the door if they are not with a Parent/Guardian. Please know that a Parent/Guardian cannot just drop a student off for the night. They must buy a ticket and be in attendance during the event.
