This is a reminder to all AP student to register for your AP exams. The next drawing for a free exam will be this Friday.  If you win the free exam, you will be reimbursed for the exam, so still plan to pay for your exams when you register. Register soon and good luck!




Seniors! Apply for a B.E.S.T. Foundation Scholarship today! One application to be considered for over 100 scholarships, available only to Simley students! Deadline is Monday, March 4th, no exceptions, so apply today! More information and online application can be found at: www.ighbestfoundation.com.




Would you like an opportunity to meet with representatives from over 80 local businesses, 2-year and 4-year colleges, technical training centers, military branches, and apprenticeships/trades? Join us to attend the Career and College Fair held in Hastings on Thursday, February 28th. Permission slips for the field trip can be found in the Career Center, Counseling Office, or Dean’s Office.



Congratulations to the Boys Hockey team for winning their first section game in the fourth overtime 2-1! Scoring for the Spartans were Carter Robinson and Shane Prifrel (OT winner in the 97th minute!). Desmond Duggan was awesome in net stopping 33 of 34 shots faced. Next up for the Spartans are the #1 seed Totino Grace Eagles TONIGHT. Game time is set for 6:00pm at Aldrich Arena.





Attention Girls Interested in Lacrosse

There will be a Girls Lacrosse clinic hosted at Simley High School on Sunday, Feb 24 and Monday, Feb 25 in the Simley High School North gym from 7:00PM -8:30PM. The clinic is free to all 7th-12th grade girls who are interested in joining Lacrosse this spring. Come see what Lacrosse is all about.



TONIGHT, Friday, February 22 is senior night for boys basketball.  We will be recognizing our four seniors: Cole Tschida, Evan Johnson, Charlie Chhum and A.J. Erickson.  The varsity team is playing Hill Murray at 7pm. There will be refreshments after the game. Everyone is invited.




The Snowball Dance is TOMORROW, Saturday, February 23, from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale during all three lunches. Tickets are $10 in the lunchroom and will be $15 at the door.



The Wrestling team will be wrestling in the state tournament on Thursday, February 28th. The school is offering a fan bus to the first round which begins at 9 a.m.  The bus will leave here at 7:45 a.m. & return at 11:15 a.m. Students will back for 5th hour. To attend the tournament, students must turn in a permission slip and purchase a ticket for $9. Permission slips are available in the Activities office.



Attention all students that are planning to join the Track team this year - There is a Track Parent/Athlete Meeting on Monday, 2/25 at 5 p.m. in the Simley IMC.  Contact Coach Schwanz, Coach Mensen or Coach Gerber if you have questions.

Attention all boys interested in playing Lacrosse this spring, please plan to attend a preseason meeting on Tuesday, February 26th in the Cafeteria.

* 6pm for 8th/9th grade & NEW players and parents  

* 7pm for returning players and parents

A representative from the following colleges will be visiting Simley at the specified dates and times. If you are interested in learning more about a college and hearing from an admission representative from their school, sign-up and get a pass from Ms. Kimble in the Student Center.

REMINDER  - The IMC, the Student Center and the Spartan Center are closed all of 5th hour. You must stay in the cafeteria during your lunch period.

March 5 - Adapted Bowling & Adapted Softball (grades 7-12 must meet CI, PI or ASD Criteria)

March 11 – Simley Softball (9th, JV & Varsity teams)

March 18 – Boys & Girls Golf (grades 7-12)

March 25 – Simley Boys Tennis (grades 7-12)

April 1 –     Boys Lacrosse (grades 7-12)

Annual Family Maxes for Activity Fees are listed below. If you are at the maximum for the school year, please contact Kim Madigan in Activities  BEFORE you register so your fee can be adjusted.

  • 1 Student participating per family - $290
  • 2 Students participating per family - $400
  • 3 or more students participating per family - $500

Teens for Jeans Drive -   February 4 - February 22

22nd!!  Donate any size, gently used jeans for homeless shelters in the IGH community. Please drop the jeans off in the donation box located in the Guidance office.

 


Simley Trap Shooting Spring 2019 Key Dates and Information

Registration for the 2019 Spring Trap season will be open on Feb. 8th. Trap is open to all 7th-12th Grade Simley Students.

Below are some key dates for Returning or New athletes:

Friday, March 8th: Team Registration Deadline

Saturday, March 9th:            Pre –Season Primer and Lifetouch Photo event SSP Gun Club (More time specific details to follow)

Monday, April 1st :    Start of the Season

Saturday  April 13th:      Last day to complete Required Minnesota DNR Firearms Safety Certificate Field day(New Athletes)
