Theatre Tech is canceled TODAY.



Join Link Leaders to prepare for your finals with cookies and cram Monday and Tuesday from 2:30-4:00 in the Spartan Center.



Attention all students: Trimester 3 schedules will be handed out during a Homeroom scheduled for Thursday, February 28 at the beginning of second hour. If you have any questions regarding your classes for Trimester 3, please write your question on the schedule that is handed out and return it to the guidance office. The counselors will be looking at those requests as soon as they can.




Any current 10th or 11th grade students that are interested in hearing about DCTC courses for next school year can sign up with Ms Kimble for Friday’s DCTC course presentation. Students must be signed up in advance.




The Simley High School Bands hosted and participated in the Minnesota State High School League Region 3AA Instrumental Large Group Contest on February 26th.  Four schools and eight bands performed musical selections for a three judge panel.  The Simley High School Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band each received the highest overall score of “SUPERIOR!” Each judge scores the musical selections on tone quality, intonation, rhythm, balance and blend, technique, articulations and other performance factors, such as the choice of literature, appearance and conduct.

Thanks to the parents and students who helped make this event a success! Mr. Robinson and the Band Boosters could not do this without your assistance.




Attention all Track & Field athletes, if you are looking are in need of proper training or competition shoes and spikes, please visit Mr. Gerber. He has flyers from the Run'N'Fun store, who are selling discounted running shoes.



The 2018-19 Female Athena athlete of the year is Sarah Anaya.



Choir Concert - Monday, March 4th at 7 p.m. - Everyone is invited.



Attention all Boys interested in joining Tennis team - There is a Boys Tennis Meeting on Thursday, March 7th at 2:45 p.m. in the cafeteria. Tennis is open to all boys in grades 7-12.



Baseball is having captain’s practice at 2:45 p.m. TODAY & NEXT Wednesday, 3/6. Meet in A/B gym.



The Wrestling team will be wrestling in the state tournament TOMORROW, Thursday, February 28th. The school is offering a fan bus to the first round which begins at 9 a.m.  If students are interested in riding the bus - Option #1-bus leaves here at 7:45 a.m. & return at 11:15 a.m. Students will back for 5th hour. Option #2-bus leaves at 7:45 a.m. & student finds their own ride home.  Option #3-Student does not ride bus. To attend the tournament, students must turn in a permission slip and purchase a ticket for $10. Permission slips & tickets are available in the Activities office. THE DEADLINE to  purchase your ticket at school is TODAY,  Wednesday, February 27th at 12:40 p.m. Also, there are a limited number of Large & X-Large t-shirts available for the Wrestling State tournament that are for sale for $5 in the Activities office.




 

Upcoming College Visits:

A representative from the following colleges will be visiting Simley at the specified dates and times. If you are interested in learning more about a college and hearing from an admission representative from their school, sign-up and get a pass from Ms. Kimble in the Student Center.

REMINDER  - The IMC, the Student Center and the Spartan Center are closed all of 5th hour. You must stay in the cafeteria during your lunch period.




Come out and support Jordan Boswell’s NHS Project on March 9th for suicide awareness. She will be showing the movie “Suicide: The Ripple Effect” starring Kevin Hines, in which he reflects on his suicide attempt from the Golden Gate Bridge and advocates mental health awareness. Tickets are $10 and will be sold at lunches Monday March 4th through Thursday March 7th. All proceeds will go to the Strub Caulkins Center for Suicide Research. For more information, talk to Jordan Boswell about her project.

Deadline is Monday, March 4th, no exceptions, so apply today! March 5 - Adapted Bowling & Adapted Softball (grades 7-12 must meet CI, PI or ASD Criteria)

March 11 – Simley Softball (9th, JV & Varsity teams)  

      Boys & Girls Track & Field

                Simley Baseball (9th, JV & Varsity teams)  

March 18 – Boys & Girls Golf (grades 7-12)

March 25 – Simley Boys Tennis (grades 7-12)

April 1 –     Boys Lacrosse (grades 7-12)

Annual Family Maxes for Activity Fees are listed below. If you are at the maximum for the school year, please contact Kim Madigan in Activities  BEFORE you register so your fee can be adjusted.

Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.
