9, 10, and 12th graders - reminder that tomorrow is a e-learning digital day. Only Juniors taking the ACTs will be in tomorrow.



Juniors - The ACT Room Rosters are located outside the Guidance, Dean’s and Main Offices. You must report to your testing room by 7:40 am tomorrow morning.



Attention Seniors: Your Grad Fee of $45 is was due the Friday before break. You can still pay this fee through your FeePay account or by cash or check in the main office. See Ms. Sievert in the main office if you have any questions.



Seniors- the ACCUPLACER exam will be offered at Simley on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 8:30 AM. If you are a senior planning to attend Inver Hills Community College or any other technical or community college, this is a placement test you will more than likely need to take. You can take it at Simley on 4/2 or go to the college to take it. Sign-up with, get practice material, and ask any questions to Ms. Kimble in the Student Center. Please note this is offering is only to seniors- not for PSEO students.




This past Saturday the Simley Track & Field teams competed at the Griak Indoor at the UofM. Some of the top performances included:

Aliah Jackson, 4th in the 60 meter dash

Justin Sok, 3rd in the 60 meter hurdles

Sarah Anaya, 3rd in the 800 meter run

Grant Dilla, 3rd in the 3200 meter run

Charlie Giese, 8th in the 3200 meter run and 7th in the 800 meter run

Olivia Schmidt 7th in the High Jump and 3rd in the Triple Jump



Interested in joining the 2019-2020 Simley Dance Team?  Fall Performance Team and Winter Competitive Team tryout practices will take place on Monday, April 8th and Tuesday, April 9th from 4:00-5:00pm & 5:30-6:30pm and on Thursday, April 11th from 5:00-6:30pm.  If you are currently in grades 6-11, you are welcome to tryout. See the signs posted around school for more details. Please email the Coaches at [email protected] with any questions.




Upcoming College Visits:

A representative from the following colleges will be visiting Simley at the specified dates and times. If you are interested in learning more about a college and hearing from an admission representative from their school, sign-up and get a pass from Ms. Kimble in the Student Center

REMINDER  - The IMC, the Student Center and the Spartan Center are closed all of 5th hour. You must stay in the cafeteria during your lunch period.



Donate to Sydney, EmmaGrace and Jen’s Hygiene Drive going on from March 20th through April 12th for their NHS project! Any toiletries such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, bar soap and deodorant can be dropped off in the Hygiene Donation Box in the Guidance office.



Bring gently used clothes and accessories for donation to Neighbor's Inc on April 1st through April 5th. Donations can be brought to the donations box located in the Guidance Office.



Bring your new or gently used books to the guidance office this week to help support Dakota County Libraries. Ben Briguet and Logan Streich are collecting books for their NHS project and appreciate your donations.



ANGST: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety

For Dakota County families:

COMMUNITY EVENT FREE VIEWINGS OF ANGST

A 56-minute film by IndieFlix for ages 12 and up.

Angst is a film that explores anxiety, its causes, effects and what we can do about it. The filmmaker’s goal is to have a global conversation and raise awareness around anxiety. Angst features candid interviews with kids and young adults who have had experienced anxiety and what they’ve learned about it.

The film includes discussions with mental health experts about the causes of anxiety and its sociological effects, as well as help, resources and tools.

A question and answer session will follow the film. Parents can ask their questions to local mental health professionals. Local mental health agencies will share resources.

March 18-April 30, 2019

Students will be participating with a student service learning project in Ms. Parker’s Room before and after school in W215 to sell for $10 H20 for Life T-Shirts for a fundraiser for Badi

Dhani School - Health, Nutrition & Education in India. The proposed project will be an integrated effort on improving health and nutrition awareness among children. Availability of safe drinking water, Bio-sand filters and regular check-ups to monitor the health of the students. This school has already received water and sanitation facilities with the support of H2O for Life.




Attention Junior and Seniors: Prom is Saturday, May 11th and will held on a riverboat on the St. Croix River in Stillwater. The Grand March will be held at Simley in the Performing Arts Center. The tickets will be $40 and include Grand March, dinner and the dance on the boat. More information to follow.




Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.
