Tonight is Senior night and Youth Lacrosse night. This is the last home game of the season so don’t miss your chance to come on out & support the Simley Boys Lacrosse team!

Special congratulations to Chloe Hart for receiving one of 24 Triple Threat Awards given out to all actors around Minnesota.  The Spotlight Triple Threat award is presented to students who not only have talent for singing, dancing and acting, but who also show leadership ability and efforts to better their community through their art. Good luck to Chloe as she competes for the opportunity to go to New York and be trained by Broadway professionals!



Congratulations to Simley Adapted Bowling team for a great season and State Tournament.   

In the P.I. (Physically Impaired) Division, Simley Junior, Thomas Juneau was awarded First Place in the State Bowling Tournament in Singles. Thomas and Simley Junior, Dallas Filek were awarded First Place in Doubles.  Simley Senior, Emily Rettinger and Simley Sophomore, Brianna Richter were awarded Second Place in Doubles.  Simley Freshman, Michelle Aguirre and Middle School Seventh Grade, Aaliyah Novak, were awarded Third Place in Doubles. Aaliyah was also awarded Second Place in Singles, with Michelle Aguirre placing fourth in Singles.

In the ASD Doubles Division, congratulations to Simley Junior, Olivia Geisen and Middle School Seventh Grade, Danny Delgado for placing 9th .




It’s Summer College Road Trip time! Join us for 1, 2, 3, or all 4 days as we visit 8 different colleges and universities! This is an awesome opportunity to get on campus and learn about different college options! Open to grades 9-11 for free! Pick up an application and more information in the Career Center or Counseling Office!



Attention Seniors:  Please remember to report to the Performing Arts Center TODAY at 12:45.  You will be sent to your 6th hour class after the meeting and attendance will be taken.



Seniors!  Tomorrow is Senior Signing Day.  Please come to the Spartan Center during 6th hour to celebrate your graduation and look forward to your plans for the fall.



Staff and students...be sure to wear your college gear TOMORROW!



Attention Seniors - The Senior All Night Party Committee will be selling tickets during all lunches this week Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Wednesday the 29th.  You may also send your money, (adult) t-shirt size and young photo to Lisa Henninger 8579 Brewster Ave., IGH 55076 BEFORE June 2nd.

 


Attention all girls interested in gymnastics. Information for the summer gymnastics camp is available in Ms. Walsh's classroom EA 208 or from Ms. Young-Dahl in the Dean's office.



Reminder to Female athletes: Please clean out your Athletic lockers by Friday, May 31.  If you have any concerns see Mrs. Walsh. Any items not taken care of will be donated to a local charity.   


 

On Thursday Simley is hosting the Metro East Conference Track & Field Championships. Field Events begin at 3:00 p.m. and running events at 4:30 p.m. today. Tickets are $4 for students and $6 for adults. Come cheer on the Track & Field team!

Lifetouch will be here Thursday, May 23rd starting at 2:45 p.m. on the middle school field to take team & individual pictures for Girls Lacrosse.  Pictures can be ordered online at LIFETOUCH  or forms are available in the Activities office.  





Upcoming College Visits:

A representative from the following colleges will be visiting Simley at the specified dates and times. If you are interested in learning more about a college and hearing from an admission representative from their school, sign-up and get a pass from Ms. Kimble in the Student Center

Reminder to  Football Players - SDSU Team Camp registration forms are due by June 1st.  Please see Mr. Mensen or stop by the Activities office if you need the form.



Important PSEO deadline reminder:  If you are interested in PSEO for the 2019 - 2020 school year, you must complete a PSEO contract and return to your counselor by Thursday, May 30.  If you have not done this, you should make an appointment with your counselor as soon as possible. This includes all current PSEO students who wish to enroll in PSEO courses next year.



Attention All 7th through 12th grade students that are interested in bowling for the Simley Co-Ed High School Bowling Club.  Our Co-Ed 2019 season will begin in September.  Any level of bowler is welcome. If so, please contact Gary Salzman (coach) at [email protected]  for more information.  Practices will start mid-August.




The Simley All Night Party committee is looking for volunteers for Friday, June 7th. The All Night Party is held every year the night of graduation to provide the graduating class a safe & fun environment to celebrate their graduation with their class. Various duties & shifts are available. Please consider volunteering for this great event.  Here is the link:

IMPORTANT - Graduation Survey - Class of 2019

All seniors must complete a short online survey by Friday, May 17.

This will help us gather valuable information regarding your post-high school plans as well as authorize the release of your final transcript.

You will not be able to pick up your cap and gown on the last day of school if you do not complete this survey.  


IMPORTANT DATES FOR SENIORS:

May 22 - Senior Meeting @ 12:45 in the Performing Arts Center.

May 23 - Senior Signing Day during 6th hour in the Spartan Center.

May 31 - Last day of school.  Cap & gown distribution in the Spartan Center starting @  8 a.m.

June 7 - Mandatory Graduation Rehearsal @ 8 a.m.  Meet in the gymnasium.

June 7 - Graduation Ceremony @ 7:30 p.m.



Seniors: Yearbook needs you to send any pictures from middle school to this year for the end of the year senior slide show! Email them to [email protected]



Curious to see if you purchased a yearbook? Check the posters outside the main office and on Hensch's bulletin board (WA209) to see if you've purchased your book.


Spartan Trained Summer Speed & Strength Program - June 10 through August 8

For: Athletes entering grades 7-12.

Cost: $100.  The family max for fees is not applicable to the Summer programs.

Session Times:

   7:00-8:00 A.M.  - High school boys & girls entering 9th-12th grade

   8:00 - 9:00 A.M. - High School girls entering 9th-12th grade

   9:00 A.M. -10:00 A.M. - High School boys entering 9th-12th grade

  10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. - All middle school boys & girls entering 7th & 8th grade

Registration is now open on Feepay. Informational flyers are available in the Activities office. Contact Will Short at [email protected]  if you have questions.




Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.




Sports Schedules

All middle school & high school sports game schedules can be found at www.metroeastconference.org - click on Simley.  Whenever there are changes to the schedule, the change will be made here.  This is the official schedule.

**If you would like to receive a notification whenever a change is made, you can sign up for that on this website. This is a very helpful feature particularly in the Spring when are dealing with so many weather issues.  

Go to www.metroeastconference.org - click on Simley. On the right hand side of page, there is a box "Notify Me" - click on "Notify Me" - create an account, choose your preferences & you will be notified.  There is also a box to get the mobile app.
