URGENT REQUEST - The Simley All Night Party committee NEEDS volunteers for Friday, June 7th. The All Night Party is held every year the night of graduation to provide the graduating class a safe & fun environment to celebrate their graduation with their class. Various duties & shifts are available. Please consider volunteering for this great event.  Here is the link:

Be sure to get your application in for the summer college road trip this week! Join us for 1, 2, 3, or all 4 days as we visit 8 different colleges and universities! All students and families are encouraged to take advantage of this great opportunity to get on campus and learn more about their college options! Pick up an application in the Career Center or Counseling Office!



If you were unable to attend the Yearbook Distribution party yesterday and need to get your yearbook, please pick it up in Ms. Hensch's room (WA209) before school or during 2nd hour. There are also several books still available for purchase. Bring $90 to Ms. Hensch to claim your copy before they are all gone.



SENIORS!

The last day of school for Seniors is Friday, May 31st.

  • Please turn in your study hall release cards to the main office.   
  • Cap & gown distribution will be in the Spartan Center starting @  8 a.m.
  • Please clean out your athletic & regular lockers. Return all textbooks, calculators or athletic uniforms or equipment that you may have in your lockers to your teachers or Activities office.

ATTENTION SENIORS!  TIME IS RUNNING OUT!! IF YOU HAVE NOT PURCHASED YOUR ALL NIGHT PARTY TICKET, YOU MAY DO SO AT CAP & GOWN DISTRIBUTION ON FRIDAY.  The cost is $40 and please bring a picture from when you were young (baby-2nd Grade, you will be able to get these back at the end of the party).

It’s going to be a great night with prizes, food and tons of activities!



Important PSEO deadline reminder:  If you are interested in PSEO for the 2019 - 2020 school year, you must complete a PSEO contract and return to your counselor by Thursday, May 30.  If you have not done this, you should make an appointment with your counselor as soon as possible. This includes all current PSEO students who wish to enroll in PSEO courses next year.



Attention all girls planning to play Tennis in the Fall - There is an informational meeting TODAY, Wednesday, May 29th at 2:35 p.m. in Cahill Court.  Contact Coach Tretsven if you have any questions.



If you received a letter that you have been selected to be a Link Leader for next year, we have a meeting during 2nd and 3rd hour on Thursday in North Gym. See Ms. Forster or Ms. Schwanz with questions.

All students must be in attendance (including in study halls) unless excused by parent.

1st hour exam 7:40 a.m. - 9:25 a.m.

3rd hour exam 9:30 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.

5th hour Regular Class/Lunch

6th hour exam 12:45 p.m. -  2:30 p.m.


Wednesday - June 5, 2019 (NO LATE START)

Only those students who have classes 4th and 5th periods come to school.

4th hour exam 7:40 a.m. -  9:20 a.m.

5th hour exam 9:25 a.m. - 11:05 a.m.*


Thursday – June 6, 2019

Only those students who have classes 2nd and 7th periods come to school.

*Buses will arrive by 11:05 in their regular spot behind the building to pick up students on Wednesday and Thursday.




Interested in traveling to Ireland? There will be a brief informational meeting after school TOMORROW, Thursday, May 30 in Mr. Corey's room WA213 to discuss next summer's trip to Ireland.

2019 Simley Soccer Camp:  All Fall 2019 Simley soccer players please sign up for their summer soccer camp ASAP. The boys’ soccer camp runs from 9-11 AM on July 15-18.  The girls’ soccer camp runs from 10-12 PM on July 8-11. All camp information and registration details can be found on the Simley Soccer website (www.simleysoccer.com).  Open for players entering 8-12 grade in the fall of 2019.

 

2019 Simley Soccer Captains Practice:  Boys and Girls Captains Practice will be held the weeks of July 29 and August 5 with time to be determined.  Further information will be posted on the Simley Soccer website (www.simleysoccer.com ).  Open for players entering 8-12 grade in the fall of 2019

 

2019 Simley Soccer Tryouts:  Boys tryouts will be held from 9:30-11 AM and 3-4:30 PM on August 12-16, Mini Tournament: Saturday August 17 at Simley.  Team to be determined. Girls tryouts will be held from 8-9:30 AM (M-F) and 5-6:30 PM (M-Th) on August 12-16.  Scrimmages at Hastings on Saturday, August 17; players to be determined by Coach Austin.

Reminder to  Football Players - SDSU Team Camp registration forms are due by June 1st.  Please see Mr. Mensen or stop by the Activities office if you need the form.



Reminder to any student who had artwork in the Art Show, please pick up your artwork  in the art rooms.



Reminder to Female athletes: Please clean out your Athletic lockers by Friday, May 31.  If you have any concerns see Mrs. Walsh. Any items not taken care of will be donated to a local charity.   





Upcoming College Visits:

A representative from the following colleges will be visiting Simley at the specified dates and times. If you are interested in learning more about a college and hearing from an admission representative from their school, sign-up and get a pass from Ms. Kimble in the Student Center

Attention all girls interested in gymnastics. Information for the summer gymnastics camp is available in Ms. Walsh's classroom EA 208 or from Ms. Young-Dahl in the Dean's office.



Attention All 7th through 12th grade students that are interested in bowling for the Simley Co-Ed High School Bowling Club.  Our Co-Ed 2019 season will begin in September.  Any level of bowler is welcome. If so, please contact Gary Salzman (coach) at [email protected]  for more information.  Practices will start mid-August.






IMPORTANT - Graduation Survey - Class of 2019

All seniors must complete a short online survey by Friday, May 17.

This will help us gather valuable information regarding your post-high school plans as well as authorize the release of your final transcript.

You will not be able to pick up your cap and gown on the last day of school if you do not complete this survey.

May 23 - Senior Signing Day during 6th hour in the Spartan Center.

May 31 - Last day of school.  Cap & gown distribution in the Spartan Center starting @  8 a.m.

June 7 - Mandatory Graduation Rehearsal @ 8 a.m.  Meet in the gymnasium.

June 7 - Graduation Ceremony @ 7:30 p.m.

Spartan Trained Summer Speed & Strength Program - June 10 through August 8

For: Athletes entering grades 7-12.

Cost: $100.  The family max for fees is not applicable to the Summer programs.

Session Times:

   7:00-8:00 A.M.  - High school boys & girls entering 9th-12th grade

   8:00 - 9:00 A.M. - High School girls entering 9th-12th grade

   9:00 A.M. -10:00 A.M. - High School boys entering 9th-12th grade

  10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. - All middle school boys & girls entering 7th & 8th grade

Registration is now open on Feepay. Informational flyers are available in the Activities office. Contact Will Short at [email protected]  if you have questions.




Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.

All middle school & high school sports game schedules can be found at www.metroeastconference.org - click on Simley.  Whenever there are changes to the schedule, the change will be made here.  This is the official schedule.

**If you would like to receive a notification whenever a change is made, you can sign up for that on this website. This is a very helpful feature particularly in the Spring when are dealing with so many weather issues.
