Attention Seniors! The senior panoramic picture will be taken TOMORROW, Thursday, 9/12 at 11:50 a.m. in the main gym. Order forms were sent home in the back-to-school mailing. These order forms can be turned in to Ms. Wang in the Guidance Office.



9th & 10th graders interested in participating in powderpuff and tug of war should sign up in front of Mr. Berg's classroom (W 202), 11th & 12th graders interested in participating in powderpuff and tug of war should sign up in front of Ms. Austin's classroom (W 106).  Twinkie & Slider slam sign ups for seniors can also be found outside of Ms. Austin's classroom.  $5 is needed to participate in the Twinkie & slider slam. These events will take place on Monday 9/16 after coronation.

Tickets will go on sale on Monday, 9/16 during all lunches. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.  If you would like to bring a guest from another school, a guest contract must be filled out & signed by the administrator at the guest’s school. Guest forms are available in the Guidance office.



Congratulations to the Simley varsity boys soccer team on their win against St. Croix Academy with another clean sweep of 2-0.  Their record grows to 7-0-0.  The JV boys also won against St. Croix Academy 7-0!  Their next game is at Tartan on Thursday. JV plays at 3:45 pm and varsity kicks off at 5 pm.


Congrats to the Simley girls Tennis team!  The tennis team won their 2nd conference match yesterday 7-0 making it their 5th consecutive 7-0 win, they take on Hill Murray away on Thursday at 3:30.

What is the Simley Trap Club Team? A clay target shooting sport team that has a spring sports schedule starting April 1st. All Students in 7-12 grade who possess their MN DNR Firearms Safety Certificate are eligible to participate on the team. Faculty, Parents and Potential Students are welcome to come to a Trap Demo this Saturday between 10:00 am to 11:15 am at the SSP Gun Club, 600 Gun Club Road, SSP. Field 1 or 2 likely. Meet the team coach Paul Tinucci and team manager Shawn Ockwig, observe a demonstration, check out the equipment needed, gather information and schedule requirements, etc. If you have a MN DNR FAS, you could try your skill with our coaches and equipment. This Friday night the Simley Spartan Football team is having their Tackle Cancer game!  Tackle Cancer t-shirts will be sold TODAY(9/11) during all lunches. The cost is $10.



Attention members of National Honor Society- we will have our first mandatory meeting on Thursday, September 12th. It will start promptly at 7:45 in the Spartan Center. Don’t be late!

On a hot day with a new course the Simley Cross Country teams competed at the Metro East Preview Meet at St. Croix Bluffs Park.   In the coed Jr. High 2k, the Sam Wegenknecht was third overall while Skyler Arneson was the first female finisher!

In the girls 5k race, overcoming the heat, captain Brekken Grathen finished 10th overall, followed by teammates Julia Myers, Crystal Bonilla Rios, Abi Lindquist, Grace Raab, and Ana Alvear.

In the boys race, Nathan Schauer led the team for the 3rd time this season. He was followed by Gabe Alvear and Kaiden Schrandt, with Alvear having his best race of the season. Jacob Scheffer was 4th, followed shortly by Captain Carter Bollmann and Griffin Wormer, who continues to have a great season.

The girls finished 4th overall and the boys were 7th, but not far out of 4th. The teams next race is next Saturday at the Milaca Mega Meet, one of the largest high school cross country meets in the US.



Auditions for Romeo and Juliet will be held Tuesday, September 10th and Wednesday, September 11th after school 3:45-5 pm.  Call back will be held Thursday as needed and casting shall be done and posted by Friday of the same week.  You can find audition sign ups in the Middle School main office as well as outside the Theatre office in the high school.

REPEAT ANNOUNCEMENTS:


Attention Parents - If you are calling in to report an absence and would like to go directly to the Attendance line, please call 651-306-7010.  



The guidance counselors would like to welcome all students back to Simley and we would like to remind students that you can request an appointment to see your counselor by going to the Simley web page and selecting "Counselor Sign-in".  We will then send a pass to meet with students during a convenient time for all. There is a computer kiosk in the guidance office if students prefer to sign in on this before school, after school, or during passing time.

Students must have a pass to see their guidance counselor unless it is an emergency situation. Students that try to come to the office without a pass will be sent back to class without a pass. 


 

Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.
