The Gymnastics team held the 22nd annual Simley Invite on Saturday and the Spartans placed 4th with a 120.75. Top finishers were; Alexa Lynner 1st on vault and 8th on bars, Bekkah Scufsa 5th on vault, Ashley Lynner 8th on vault, 5th on bars, 6th on floor and  7th in the all around, Julia Myers 9th on bars, Amie Willenbring 10th on bars, and Emmerson Hocking 6th on beam. Congratulations gymnasts! The spartans travel to North St. Paul on Thursday.  


There will be a brief informational meeting for the 2019-2020 speech season on Tuesday December 17, 2019, in Mr. Dorfner's room -- MS 8100 -- at 3:30 pm. Competition dates and sources for scripts will be covered. If you cannot attend, you can see Mr. Dorfner any day before school between now and break. Speech is open for 8th through 12th graders. Speech runs between January 18 and March 18.

 

Seniors, you have until December 13th to submit your votes for the Senior Hall of Fame for the yearbook.  Yearbook prices increase on January 1st. Buy a yearbook now at ybpay.lifetouch.com using the code: 12202020. 

 

The U.S. Marine Corps. will be in the Student Center on Thursday, December 12th at 10:20 AM to talk to students about educational benefits, career opportunities, scholarships, and other benefits of the Marine Corps. Those interested in attending should sign-up in the Student Center. 

 

PSAT score reports will be handed back on Friday, December 13th. If you took the PSAT in October you should report to the Student Center on Friday at 11:00 AM to receive your score report, test book, and report interpretation. If you can’t make it pick up your report next week from Ms. Kimble

 

Upcoming College Visits:A representative from the following college will be visiting Simley at the specified dates and times. If you are interested in learning more about a college and hearing from an admission representative from their school, sign-up and get a pass from Ms. Kimble in the Student Center

The Sheridan Story is excited to inform you that we will be partnering with the YMCA and other community sites to provide our food bags over winter break! Winter break is a frequently overlooked food gap.

The bags will be available at all of the Twin Cities YMCA locations as well as a few other community sites from December 21st, 2019 through January 5th, 2020. Anyone who wishes to receive a bag should simply go to the front desk of their nearest location and request a bag - no questions asked. Membership with the YMCA is not required. Additionally,  no information will be collected and recipients do not need to be currently enrolled in The Sheridan Story weekend food program to participate.

Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.
