We are also hosting a Vaping Presentation for parents during conferences.  This event will take place on Thursday, January 16 from 5:30-6:30 PM in the Spartan Center.


Congratulations to the Simley wrestling team for their wins over Mahtomedi and North St. Paul last night. Simley beat North 79-0. Simley defeated Mahtomedi 64-12. 
 

Congratulations to the Boys Swimming & Diving team for their 91 to 77 win against North St. Paul last night. The team is now 3-1 in dual meets for the season. Individual winners were: Brandon Petryszyn won the 200 freestyle, Garrett Kaiser won the 50 freestyle and the 1-meter diving, and Gabe Ukestad won the 100 freestyle.  The team of Brandon Petryszyn, Garrett Kaiser, Gabe Ukestad, and Hunter Collins won the 200 Free Relay, and the team of Brandon Petryszyn, Gabe Ukestad, Steven Hernandez, and Dominick Olaes won the 400 Free Relay. The Spartans next meet is Parent’s Night against Tartan next Thursday (Jan. 16th) at the Grove at 6:00 p.m.


Class of 2020 All Night Party:   The next meeting will be on Monday January 13th at 6:30 PM outside of the Simley IMC.   We are still looking for a few chair positions. Lifetouch Photos: Students, if you had your picture taken in December your pictures and/or student ID's are available in the guidance office now. Please see Ms. Wang.


Attention Seniors: Your Graduation Fee of $50 is due March 20. You can pay this fee through your FeePay account or by cash or check in the main office. Please go to  the main office if you have any questions.
 

Seniors, the yearbook deadline for senior materials has been extended until February 1st. All senior photos, baby photos, and senior surveys are due February 1st which is the final due date. There will be NO exceptions. 
 

Club Photo Day has been scheduled for Friday January 31st. Please talk to your club's advisor to find out what time your group photo is.  During Club Photo Day seniors can come to the Spartan Center (preferably during lunches, but they can come any time they are free) to take a free professional photo for the yearbook. We want all seniors to be in the yearbook.

Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school. Spartan Gaming Club: For anyone interested in video games to board games, or everything in between, there will be an informational meeting for the new Spartan Gaming Club on Wednesday (January 15) in room 108. See Mr. Rogness or Mr. Og for details. Interested in a hands-on, debt-free career in the trades? Not sure what career might be a good fit for you but you’ve thought about a career working with your hands? Join us to attend Construct Tomorrow, a hands-on event where you can explore all 16 trades and talk to union representatives and hear about apprenticeship opportunities. Apprenticeships in the trades offer paid on-the-job training, a strong foundation to build your career, competitive salary and benefits, and no college tuition debt. Come check it out- the event takes place Thursday, January 16th. Pick-up a permission slip in the Counseling Office or Career Center.  Last call for any student interested in competing in speech this spring. There will be an informational meeting in Mr. Dorfner's room, MS 8101, on Monday, January 13, 2020.  The season runs from January to March, with the state meet in April. Speech meets are on Saturdays and practices can be flexible around other extracurricular activities.
