We are also hosting a Vaping Presentation for parents during conferences. This event will take place on Thursday, January 16 from 5:30-6:30 PM in the Spartan Center.
SIMLEY THEATRE BOOSTER CLUB MEETING - TOMORROW, JANUARY 15TH
Simley Theatre Booster Club is meeting tomorrow, January 15th in the Simley IMC at 6:30pm. All parents of current and past participants are welcome to join!
WINTER DRIVER EDUCATION SESSIONS STARTING SOON!
Classes will begin Monday, January 27th and runs Monday-Thursday till February 7th (10 sessions) after school from 2:45-5:45pm. The cost of the class is $375 and that includes classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training.
ACT PREP COURSE - Starting January 22nd
Get prepared for your ACT Test! This class provides an introduction to the ACT format, strategies for answering questions and instruction for the specific subject areas tested. Focal points of the program include diagnostic testing, vocabulary development, intensive mathematical review, reading comprehension improvement, and anxiety and time management.
Students who complete a course may repeat it as often as they wish in future offerings – free of charge. All class materials are included in the tuition fee.

Class of 2020 All Night Party: The next meeting will be on Monday January 13th at 6:30 PM outside of the Simley IMC. We are still looking for a few chair positions. If you are interested in a posisiton but unable to attend please email Jane Difronzo at [email protected]. Attention Seniors: Your Graduation Fee of $50 is due March 20. You can pay this fee through your FeePay account or by cash or check in the main office. Please go to the main office if you have any questions.
Seniors, the yearbook deadline for senior materials has been extended until February 1st. All senior photos, baby photos, and senior surveys are due February 1st which is the final due date. There will be NO exceptions.
Club Photo Day has been scheduled for Friday January 31st. Please talk to your club's advisor to find out what time your group photo is. During Club Photo Day seniors can come to the Spartan Center (preferably during lunches, but they can come any time they are free) to take a free professional photo for the yearbook. We want all seniors to be in the yearbook.
Lifetouch Photos: Students, if you had your picture taken in December your pictures and/or student ID's are available in the guidance office now. Please see Ms. Wang.
The Simley gymnastics team scored a 120. 40 and placed 4th at the Mahtomedi Invite last weekend. Congratulations to top place finishers; Bekkah Scusa 7th on vault, Alexa Lynner 10th on beam and Chrissa Mueller 8th on Floor! The Spartans travel to No. St. Paul on Thursday.
The Simley Girls Hockey program would like to invite ALL youth to our Simley Girls Hockey game at home vs South St. Paul this Friday, January 17th: Puck drops for JV @ 5 and Varsity @ 7.
Youth wearing a jersey get in for FREE
Youth can enter a drawing to win Gopher Hockey tickets and Simley Swag.
Registering for drawing will be at the Chuck a Puck table.
Drawing will happen during the 2nd intermission of the Varsity game.

FREE DENTAL CARE FOR CHILDREN IN NEED

Do you know a child who could benefit from free dental care?
Give Kids a Smile is a free charitable dental event, brought to you by Minnesota Dental Association and the Minnesota Dental Foundation, for kids (typically ages 3-18) who face barriers to accessing dental care.
WHEN IS IT?
February 7 and 8, 2020
(Note: Some clinics may have alternative dates.)
HOW ARE APPOINTMENTS MADE?
Parents can locate a participating clinic by visiting www.mndental.org or by calling United Way 2-1-1 (simply dial 2-1-1). They can then contact the clinic directly to schedule an appointment.

Attention Parents - If you are calling in to report an absence and would like to go directly to the Attendance line, please call 651-306-7010.
Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.
Spartan Gaming Club: For anyone interested in video games to board games, or everything in between, there will be an informational meeting for the new Spartan Gaming Club on Wednesday (January 15) in room 108. See Mr. Rogness or Mr. Og for details.
The Construct Tomorrow field trip will be taking place this Thursday, January 16th. Anyone interested in learning more about trades, apprenticeships, and hands-on careers is encouraged to attend. Permission slips are due by Wednesday morning and can be picked-up in the Career Center or Counseling Office.
