Hockey Fights Cancer Night Thursday, Feb. 6th
Boys Hockey Game JV@5| Varsity @7
Proceeds will benefit one of our own hockey families: The Luedke family and U of M: Masonic Cancer Center.
We will be selling T-shirts and collecting donations.
Fan/Families/Players will be able to sign and dedicate a ribbon to be posted on the hockey boards during the game.


Attention Simley Girls Lacrosse Players in grades 7-12 and anyone interested in joining the girls lacrosse program this spring. 
There will be an informational meeting on Monday, February 10th with Head Coach Madii Maas in the High School Cafeteria at 7pm.  This is for new players (& their parents) thinking of giving it a try and current lacrosse players(& their parents). This is a MANDATORY meeting for all players (if you can't make it, contact coach Madii). 


Girls basketball team will be celebrating teachers and seniors next week.
Teacher Appreciation Night - Tue Feb 4th 
Senior Night - Thur Feb 6th 
Student Night - Thursday, February 6 - Student will have FREE admission to the game.

Please come early - We will be honoring our Senior Players before the start of the game.

Congratulations to the Simley boys hockey team for the big win over Metro East Conference and Section 4A opponent Tartan Saturday night. 
After losing 4-3 to the Titans back on January 2nd, the team brought forth their best effort this season defeating Tartan 6-3.   The Spartans will look to keep the momentum going when they travel to Henry Sibley on Tuesday night. Go Spartans!

Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.

Join us for the sixth annual medallion hunt at Simley High School starting on Monday, February 3rd. The medallion hunt rules are as follows: 
1. The medallion will be hidden in Simley High School. 
2. The medallion hunt will only be allowed from 8-8:25 a.m. It will be removed during hours 1-7 and after school. 
3. Any destruction of school property will result in a cancellation of the medallion hunt. 
4. There will be 1 new clue every day. The clues will be in the morning announcements. The 1 st clue will be read Monday morning. So, the actual hunting will begin on Tuesday morning. 
5. Winner will receive 2 free Snow Ball dance tickets on Feb. 22nd. 
6. If you find the medallion, bring it to the main office. Good luck! And happy hunting!


The Hilltop 5th Grade teachers are looking for High School Leaders in grades 10-12 to assist with this year's Kindness Retreat.  Here are the details:

*Students are responsible for working with their teachers to make up work missed.

Registration for the 2020 Spring Trap season will be open on Feb. 7th. Trap is open to all 7th-12th Grade Simley Students.

7pm - for new players(& their parents) thinking of giving it a try and current lacrosse players(& their parents) new to the High School program.
8pm - MANDATORY mtg for all returning boys lacrosse players.(if you can't make it, contact coach Luke)


ACT Day, February 25th
11th grade students will be taking the ACT exam on February 25th.  Any 11th grade students not taking the ACT test need to notify the main office by calling 651-306-7000 option 6.  In order for students to be released after the ACT is complete, please sign and return the ACT permission form that was mailed home.  

9th, 10th, and 12th graders will have a digital learning day.

Attention Seniors: Your Graduation Fee of $50 is due March 20. You can pay this fee by cash or check in the main office. Paying via FeePay is now available.


Lifetouch Photos: Students, if you had your picture taken in December your pictures and/or student ID's are available in the guidance office now. Please see Ms. Wang.


Interested in the U.S. Navy? Want to hear more about career options and educational benefits being a part of the Navy? Simley’s Navy Recruiter will be presenting on all things U.S. Navy on Monday, February 3rd at 10:20 AM. Sign-up and get a pass from Ms. Kimble in the Student Center!


Inver Grove Heights B.E.S.T. Winter Carnival 
Parents, this is for you! Wondering what to do for Valentine’s Day? Join your friends for the IGH B.E.S.T. Winter Carnival fun and support our seniors.  There will be dining stations, a silent auction, raffles, games, prizes and lots of old-fashioned Minnesota fun! The BEST Foundation raises money to provide Simley seniors post-secondary scholarships for technical school, community colleges, and four-year colleges. All are welcome to attend.

The event will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at Shamrock Hall, 3535 72nd Street East, Inver Grove Heights, MN  55076. Are you familiar with the Dakota County Court System?  Do you have an experience to share?  We want to hear from you!  Join staff from the District Court at Dakota County to speak about what is going on in the Courts. This is an opportunity for people to voice concerns, share suggestions, and help the courts understand the court experience from the perspective of those who are entering it. Presentation time includes a meal, general information about the district court system, and small group discussions. Free event, pre-registration is appreciated.  Sign up here.

Co-Parenting: Making it Work
We aren’t given a manual on how to raise our tiny humans, aka our children. Bottom line parenting IS hard and not always intuitive. Take the complexities of parenting and layer on 2 (or more) parents who aren’t married and it makes it feel almost impossible! This course will outline the basics to help make Co-parenting easier. With education, tips, tricks, and communication skills, reducing stress for the kids and the parents is possible! Presented by: Erin Pash, MA LMFT
