New Announcements

Reminder students: There will be a 5 minute homeroom today at 9:25, right at the beginning of the second hour. You will be receiving your trimester 3 schedules. This is a reminder that we will not make any convenience changes such as teacher requests or to have the hours of your classes rearranged. Students SHOULD NOT make an appointment with their counselor for a schedule change. Please pick up the Schedule Change Form from the Counseling office and return it to your counselor. If it is a change we are able to make, we will make the change and you will be able to see the change in your Campus portal. Students should not be allowed to leave a class to come to the Counseling office for a schedule change. Pick up a form during passing time or before or after school. The absolute deadline for changes is March 4th.


Attention juniors and seniors interested in prom committee: We will have our first  meeting on Thursday, March 12th in Mrs. Martin's classroom, EA 211. If you have any questions or are unable to attend, please see Mrs. Martin. 


Congratulations to the 2020 Section Runners up Boys Swimming & Diving team for winning 2
nd place at tournament last week!  Individual point scorers & medal winners were: Owen Lucas placed 11th in the 200 free, Austin Illetschko placed 16th place in the 200 free, Albert Mansour placed 15th in the 200 IM, Eric Schroeder placed 9th in the 200 IM & 11th place in the 100 back, Dominic Olaes won an 8th place medal in the 200 IM & an 8th place medal in the 100 butterfly, Joseph Waska won a 5th place medal in the 200 IM & won a 5th place medal in the 100 breaststroke, Hunter Dilla placed 13th in the 50 free & 13th in the 100 butterfly, Gabe Ukestad won a 5th place medal in the 50 free & a 7th place medal in the 100 free, Fernando Madrid Pina placed 13th in the 1-meter diving, Austin Penttila placed 10th in the 1-meter diving, Marioys Makar won a 6thplace in the 1-meter diving, Ethan Gregg placed 15th in the 100 butterfly, Steven Hernandez placed 11th in the 100 butterfly, Hunter Collins placed 16th in the 100 free, John Tabor placed 9th in the 500 free, Caleb Myran placed 12th place in the 100 breaststroke,  Ethan Jie won a 4th place medal in the 100 breaststroke & won a 5th place medal in the 500 free and QUALIFED for the STATE TOURNAMENT, Brandon Petryszyn won a 5thplace medal in the 100 backstroke & won a 2nd place medal in the 500 free and QUALIFED for the STATE TOURNAMENT.  The team of Hunter Dilla, Owen Lucas, Steven Hernandez, and Garrett Kaiser won a 5thplace medal in the 200 Free Relay; the team of Gabe Ukestad, Brandon Petryszyn, Ethan Jie, and Nico Losinski won 5th place medal in the 400 Free Relay, and the team of Brandon Petryszyn, Ethan Jie, Nico Losinski, and Gabe Ukestad won a 3rd place medal and QUALIFED for the STATE TOURNAMENT in the 200 Medley Relay. A Special Congratulations to Nico Losinski who won a 3rd place medal in the 100 back and QUALIFED for the STATE TOURNAMENT & is the 2020 Section Champion in the 500 free and QUALIFED for the STATE TOURNAMENT; and Garrett Kaiser who placed 12th in the 50 free and is the 2020 Section Champion in the 1-meter diving and QUALIFED for the STATE TOURNAMENT.  


Attention Students: State Wrestling fan bus permission slips and tickets are available in the activities office, $10 for students and $16 for adults. Reminder that your permission slip must be signed by a parent/guardian before you are able to purchase a ticket. Permission slips and money for tickets will be accepted until 9:15am tomorrow morning and the bus will be departing at 10:10am. 


Girls Basketball will be home vs St Paul Harding at 7:00pm, come cheer them on as they begin section play.


ATTENTION GOLFERS:
The mandatory informational meeting for parents, athletes and coaches will be on Sunday, March 1st starting at 6:00 PM for anyone new to the program, and at 6:30 PM for our returning families and players. The meeting will be held in the Spartan Center at Simley High School. All athletes wanting to try out for the boys or girls high school golf teams should attend. Any student grades 7-12 is welcome to try out for the high school teams. The 2020 golf season will begin March 16th.


Remember: you will not be considered for CIS Comm 11 if you have not completed an application.
Applications are due this Friday, which is the same day registration ends. Bring your application to the Guidance Office, Ms. Ney, or Ms. Reyes. You will not be able to register for this course, so register for your second choice and if you are chosen for the course, you will be placed accordingly.


Reminder to students who have signed up for the blood drive happening this Friday-remember to bring a photo ID with you to your appointment!  All passes will be handed out during 1st hour on Friday.
  If you have not signed up and are interested in participating, there are a few spots left, see Ms Erdman in the health office.

Attention Seniors: Your Graduation Fee of $50 is due March 20. You can pay this fee by cash or check in the main office. Paying via FeePay is now available.


Attention all Simley students: Registration has now been presented to all grade levels and you should be working hard over the next two weeks to choose your courses for next year.  As a reminder, the full registration guide that gives the description of all the courses is available on your grade level schoology page for you to read and help make sure you are registering accurately.
All students must enter their course selections in their Campus portal by Friday, February 28th and then turn your registration worksheets into your English teacher.  Registration is listed under "more" in your campus portal and make sure to hit "Request" for each of your courses.  
 

For their NHS project, seniors Alex Binley, Alex Guggisberg, and Zach Sayner are playing the movie Angst. The film addresses the issues surrounding mental health and how to cope with them. It will be shown on Saturday, February 29 at 11:30am in the Performing Arts Center.
