New Announcements:

Hello Spartan Basketball Fans.
On Wednesday, March 17th at 7:00 PM, the Varsity Boys Basketball Team will play Kasson-Mantorville for the first round of playoffs.
We are excited to announce that for the first time this season we are allowed to have 120 Simley fans at the game.
Kasson-Mantorville High School  is about one hour away from Simley High School.
Address:  101 16th Street NE, Kasson, MN 55944  
Tickets are $8.00 and must be purchased ahead of time.  
The tickets can be purchased on:
Monday, March 15 from 5 to7 PM at Simley High School Door #6 (Entrance to North Gym)
Tuesday, March 16 from 4 to 6 PM at Simley High School Door #6 (Entrance to North Gym)
Cash only and PLEASE bring exact change.
Due to MSHSL rules, we are not able to sell tickets on the day of the game or at the door of the event.
Please consider coming to cheer on the Boys Team !

Attention Golfers, Spring is Almost Here!!

 

Hello golfers and golf families! There will be an informational Zoom

meeting for parents and athletes on Monday, March 22nd at 7:00 PM for

any athletes wishing to try out for the boys or girls high school golf

teams. Tryouts are open to any student in grades 7-12. All students

who are interested are encouraged to try out regardless of previous

golf experience. Any interested families should attend the

informational meeting. If interested, please email Kyle Golden

the informational Zoom meeting. We look forward to hearing from you!

Parking Permits for Trimester 3 are available to purchase in SmartSchoolk12 via parent portals. Purchased permits will be given to students once the application has been processed.  Reminder that students are only allowed to park in the Student Lot unless otherwise specified.

Attention all current Boys and Girls Lacrosse players grades 8-12 and anyone who wants to try out for Lacrosse this spring!!

Congratulations to Boys Swimming and Diving team on their 2021 Section 1A Championship win. This is the first year in Simley swim and dive history that the team has both the Conference Championship and the Section championship! 

Individual medal winners were: Andy Watts placed 6th in the 200 free; Eric Schroeder placed 7th in the 200 IM & 7th in the 100 back; Dominick Olaes placed 5th in the 200IM & 7th in the 100 Fly;  Hunter Dilla placed 8th in the 50 free; Ethan Gregg placed 7th in the 50 free & 6th in the 100 fly; Austin Penttila placed 6th in diving; John Tabor placed 7th in the 500 free; Joseph Waska placed 4th in the 500 free & 5th in the 100 breaststroke; Hunter Collins placed 6th in the 100 breaststroke. The team of Eric Schroeder, Joseph Waska, Ethan Gregg, and Hunter Dilla placed 4th in the 200 Medley Relay.

 

A special congratulations to the following STATE qualifiers; Brandon Petryszyn placed 3rd in the 200 IM (state) & 2nd in the 500 free (state); Nico Losinski placed 2nd in the 200 free (state) and is the SECTION champion in the 500 free (state); and Marioys Makar is the SECTION champion in the 1-meter diving (state) . The team of Hunter Dilla, Ethan Jie, Brandon Petryszyn, & Nico Losinski placed 2nd in the 200 Free Relay (State), and the team of Brandon Petryszyn, Ethan Gregg, Ethan Jie, and Nico Losinski placed 2nd in the 400 free relay (state).

 

The Spartans next meet is the State Championship on Saturday, March 20th at noon at the University of Minnesota.

The application deadline for TriDistrict CAPS has been extended through Wednesday, March 17! Don't wait to apply for TriDistrict CAPS programs in the career areas of Transportation, Healthcare, and Business & Entrepreneurship.  Have questions?  Talk with your counselor.

Are you a teen or do you have a teen that's looking for part-time or summer employment?  If so, you definitely want to check-out the Virtual Teen Summer Job Fair, March 16th-19th. During this 4 day event, students of all abilities, ages 14+  will be able to search for jobs, apply for jobs, and even meet employers all in a virtual environment. Over 40 local employers will be participating in the event- take advantage of this great opportunity!

You will create an account and register for the event on this page. - Be sure to write down your login! In the future, you will come back to this same site, and use the "Login" button to access the Job Fair and the live, drop-in event.  - Beginning Tuesday, March 16 at 8am, the Job Fair will go live. You can login and view the companies that are hiring, the jobs that are available, and you can even apply for positions! This teen job exploration fair will be open until 9 p.m. on Friday, 3/19. - On Thursday, March 18th from 3:30pm-6:30pm, log in and you will be able to access the Drop-in Virtual Employer Meet-up. This is a live, virtual event where you can connect and talk with companies through live chat, audio and video to ask questions and learn about job opportunities. Employers will be there for a live conversation.

If you received an invitation to apply for National Honor Society, the application deadline is Friday, March 26th at 3:30 P.M. Because some students are on quarantine or in isolation, applications will be accepted in person or via email to Ms. Kimble ([email protected]) or to Ms. Erdman ([email protected]) by the deadline.


Lifetouch Picture Make-Ups/Retakes have been scheduled for the following dates. Seniors in Hybrid: During trimester 3, seniors with study halls at the beginning or the end of the school day may request a study hall release.  If a study hall is the middle of the day, students must remain in that study hall.  Study hall release forms are available in the main office.  Also, there is no lunch release for trimester 3.

Free Meals for All Kids

Inver Grove Heights Schools is providing Free Meal Boxes to ALL children, ages 18 and younger. Families will no longer need to pre-order meals, and any child will be able to pick up a Free Meal Box, whether they are an ISD 199 student or not. 

 

Free Meal Boxes will be available for pick-up at 12 distribution sites, some in the afternoon and some in the evening. Click here for each Free Meal Box site’s day, time, and location.

High School Spring Sports start March 29 In order to get your son/daughter registered for sports you need to follow the link below to our new registration site; SmartSchool K12. When you arrive at the home site of the user portal, you will see guides available that will walk you through the registration process and setting up your parent portal, step by step.

When you are connecting your student to your parent account, you will need the STUDENT ID and their DATE OF BIRTH. You WILL NOT use a family key. 

Once you are registered and you have added your student to your account, please make sure to go into your settings and add a "Funding Source". This will allow you to complete your purchases upon checkout. Do not auto-fill this section as it will not work due to security reasons.

Earlier this Fall we had a lot of issues with different browsers when families were registering. Please attempt to use FireFox, as it is the most successful.
