Inver Grove Heights Middle School Announcements

Students for Change is hosting a food drive through Friday, May 7th. There are 3 barrels outside of the main office that we would love to see overflowing by the end of the two weeks.  

Requested items are:


Peanut butter and jelly (non-glass containers preferred for food drives if possible)

Canned fruit

Canned vegetables

Canned meat

Soup

Pancake mix and syrup


Anything the students like or anything on sale that is non perishable!

Dakota County Library has planned a series of virtual events centering Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) experiences. Below are several featured programs that were designed specifically with middle school and high school teenage students in mind. 

1.Virtual Author Talk with Paula Yoo: The Killing of Vincent Chin and the Trial that Galvanized the Asian American Movement, Thursday, May 6, 7–8 p.m. Register now.

2.Life in a Japanese American Incarceration Camp, Monday, May 10 at 7–8 p.m. Register now.

3.Virtual Author Talk with An Na: Writing About Mental Illness and the Asian American Experience, Tuesday, May 11, 7–8 p.m. Register now.

4.Asian American Adoptees in Children's Literature, Sunday, May 16 at 5-6:30 p.m. Register now.

5.#MinneAsianStories: Voices & Stories from Minnesota's Asian American Community, Tuesday, May 18 at 7–8 p.m. Register now.

6.Virtual Author Talk with Kao Kalia Yang: Somewhere in the Unknown World, Thursday, May 20, 7–8 p.m. Register now.

 


IGH Youth Center Registration is OPEN

Registration for the IGH Youth Center is open!  The Youth Center will run June 21st - August 5th this year at the IGH Middle School and is open to those entering 6-9th grade! Included with your registration will be transportation and admission to fun weekly field trips! Teacher Appreciation week is the week of May 3-7. We would like to show our appreciation of IGHMS staff. If you are interested in donating a $15-$20 gift card, please send it to school with your child and have them drop it off in the main office labeled "Teacher Appreciation". Gift cards will be raffled off to staff members throughout the week! 

 

 

TOMORROW! IGH BEST Foundation May Day 'Pave the Way' 5K Fun Run

When: Saturday, May 1

Check in at 8:00 AM, Race/walk begins at 9:00 AM with small groups in staggered starts

Where: Inver Hills Community College, 2500 80th Street East
