Inver Grove Heights Middle School Announcements

IGHMS Music T-Shirt Fundraiser
This year the music department at IGHMS is purchasing t-shirts for all band and choir students to wear at concerts. Students will be asked to wear the t-shirt with jeans to each concert this year and in future years if they remain in band or choir.
The middle school is paying $5 per t-shirt and each student will be given a t-shirt regardless if a donation is possible. We are hoping any donations we receive will help offset our costs. If you can make a donation for a t-shirt or two please go to www.portal.isd199.org and go to SmartSchoolk12.

Simley Girls Swim & Dive Team Fundraiser - Wednesday, October 27th

Dakota County Library is hosting a live virtual program with Dr. Debbie Reese as part of our upcoming Native American and Indigenous series. Dr. Reese’s live virtual presentation will be entitled American Indians in Books for Children and Teens and it’s scheduled on Monday, November 8 at 7 pm. Registration is open now.
Please join us for what will be an engaging learning opportunity for all. Please feel free to spread the word about this opportunity with library colleagues, teachers, media specialists, community partners, parents and caregivers and anyone you think may be interested.
This program is part of Dakota County Library’s Native American & Indigenous Cultures series.

Interested in joining the 2021-2022 Simley Dance Team? Winter Competitive Team tryout practices will take place TONIGHT, October 25th 5:30-6:45pm & 7:00-8:15pm and Tuesday, October 26th from 5:30-6:45pm. Tryouts and team announcements will take place from 7:00-8:15pm on Tuesday, October 26th. If you are currently in grades 6-12, you are welcome to try out. See the signs around school for more details.
There will be a mandatory parent meeting on Thursday, October 28th at 7pm in the Spartan Center for the parent(s)/guardian(s) of any dancers who make the team. Please contact the coaching staff with any questions at [email protected].

IMPORTANT: Parents/Guardians: We know that sometimes it’s necessary for you to come to school to pick up your student during the school day. Please send a note with your student in the morning if you can. Your student should come to the main office in the morning with the note to get a pass. If you need to contact us during the day to let us know about picking up your student- please try to call at least 1 hour before you need the student to be excused. Attendance Line is 651-306-7878
We try to limit interruptions to class and following these suggestions can keep interruptions to learning to a minimum and get your student to the office more efficiently.

All middle school students must be accompanied by an adult to ALL Football games. Any student not accompanied by an adult will be turned away at the door.
