Simley Announcements 4-12-22
Published on Apr 12, 2022 13:09

New Announcements:
Good luck to the Simley softball team as they play South St. Paul at home at 4:15. Come out and support the team!
There will be an AIDs History Night sponsored by the Gender Sexuality Alliance on Monday, April 18th from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. in the Student Center. Check with your social studies teacher about the possibility of extra credit for attending this event.

Military visits are back in the lunchroom! The Army National Guard will be here on Thursday, April 14th. Stop by their table to learn more about each branch.

This is an important update for all Simley students! Due to the changing covid protocols around social distancing and the need to provide supervision for all students, we are transitioning back to requiring all students to stay in the lunchroom during their lunch period. All students are required to eat in the lunchroom beginning TODAY. Check with your counselor or an administrator if you have any questions. Thank you for your cooperation as we transition back to more traditional practices and routines.

Looking for a fun class next year where you get to be creative and play different styles of music such as blues, hip-hop, R&B, swing, standard jazz, and more? Simley HS is adding Jazz Ensemble next year as a class during the school day. We are especially looking for students that can play drum set, electric guitar, or electric bass. Even if you aren't currently in band and can play those instruments, you are welcome to join. Please see Mr. Robinson in the band room as soon as possible or send him an email at [email protected].

For any Simley student needing accommodations to meet religious obligations this month or at any time during the year, please meet with your counselor or an administrator to discuss how we can best meet your needs.

Attention Juniors and Seniors:

Simley’s Prom will be held on Saturday, May 14th. The Grand March will be held in Simley’s Performing Arts Center. The dance and rides will be held at the Mall of America. Students who are interested may bring a guest from another school. Guest contracts will be made available at a later date. More details to follow regarding the time of Grand March and events at the Mall of America. Tickets will be $40 per person and will be on sale at a later date. We look forward to the event barring any unforeseen circumstances.

In order to get your son/daughter registered for sports you need to follow the link below to our new registration site; SmartSchool K12. When you arrive at the home site of the user portal, you will see guides available that will walk you through the registration process and setting up your parent portal, step by step.

When you are connecting your student to your parent account, you will need the STUDENT ID and their DATE OF BIRTH. You WILL NOT use a family key.

Once you are registered and you have added your student to your account, please make sure to go into your settings and add a "Funding Source". This will allow you to complete your purchases upon checkout. Do not auto-fill this section as it will not work due to security reasons.

Earlier this year we had a lot of issues with different browsers when families were registering. Please attempt to use FireFox, as it is the most successful.

Do not hesitate to contact the activities office if you have any questions. 651-306-7001
