New Announcements:

For the first time in school history, the girls track and field team won the True Team Section Meet and will advance as a team to the True Team State Meet. Highlights for the girls include Naomi Moore bettering her own school record in the 100 Hurdles (15.80) and Ayisat Adebayo breaking the triple jump school record (34 feet 11 inches). 

Top 3 Finishers: 
Ayisat Adebayo* - 1st in the Triple Jump  Megan Gullerud - 1st in the 1600 and 3200 Naomi Moore* - 1st in the 100 Hurdles and 300 Hurdles Makenzie Gibson - 1st in the Shot Put and Discus Laura Bosin - 2nd in the 400 4x800 Relay: Riley, Clara, Crystal, and Julia - 2nd Zainab Adebayo - 2nd in the Shot Put and 3rd in the Discus Taylor Ralson - 3rd in the 200 Malia Miller* - 3rd in the Triple Jump Abi Lindquist - 3rd in the 3200

*Along with Naomi and Ayisat's school records, Malia Miller's triple jump puts her 5th in school history. Naomi's time in the 300 meter hurdles puts her 4th in school history. 

Congratulations to Nico Losinski. Nico has been voted by the head coaches of Simley High School as the 2022 Male Apollo Athlete of the Year. Congratulations to Nico on this great honor.

Important Yearbook Info:

The online yearbook store has been reopened for one week so everyone can preorder a yearbook. If you want one and have not yet purchased one, go to www.buytheyearbook.com and use the school code: 702313. We will have a limited number of yearbooks which can be purchased in person, but these will sell out fast, so your best bet is to preorder now. 

Yearbook Distribution:
Seniors will receive their yearbook on Friday, June 3rd during cap and gown pick up. All other students will receive their yearbooks the following week during school hours. More info to come. If you have any questions please contact Ms. Hensch at [email protected]. 
 

Interested in joining the 2022-2023 Simley Dance Team? 

There will be an Open House for anyone interested in learning more about the team. Stop by the Dance Room at Simley High School on Wednesday, May 11th starting at 6pm. This time will be for parents or dancers to ask questions, meet coaches and team members, watch team performances, learn about the practice schedule, learn about the difference between our fall and winter seasons, and learn the skills included in tryouts. If you cannot make it to our Open House, no problem! You are still welcome to tryout the following week. 

Fall Performance Team and Winter Competitive Team tryout practices will take place on May 16 from 6-7:30pm, May 17 from 4-5:30pm and May 18 from 6-7:30pm. Tryouts will take place on Thursday, May 19 starting at 6:00pm. If you are currently in grades 5-11, you are welcome to tryout. Seniors - if you have not done the senior survey yet please do so. The QR code for the survey that was given to you in the Senior Newsletter has been disabled. The new QR code is available on the school website, under Senior Information.

Senior Grad Fee: The online portal to pay graduation fees has been opened! Payments can be made in SmartSchoolsK12 via the parent portal or in the main office with Ms. Sievert. If you still need to pay our grad fee, please do so soon.

What it is: The All Night Party is held after graduation on June 9th, 2022 from 10:30pm-4:30am at Simley High School. This is a great night of fun with your class after graduation.

Who it is for: EVERYONE in the class of 2022

 

Price: $60: price includes Food, Games, Casino, Hypnotist and prizes to be given away at the end of the night (Tv's, gift cards and more!)

The black student union supporter shirts are back! Get the size you want by scanning the QR code located on signs around the building and filling out the google form. Orders will be open for this week only, and payment is due when you pick up your shirt. Shirts are $10 and are cash or check only. Proceeds go to a community gathering at Simley Saturday June 4th sponsored by the BSU. Order a shirt and support Simley’s first ever Black Student Union.

Bus Drivers Needed!

ISD 199 is looking for more bus drivers and bus driver subs! Before and after school shifts are available, 4 hours per day are guaranteed, up to $23.25 per hour plus paid training, and full benefits at 25 hours per week. Learn more and apply at www.isd199.org/careers.

 In order to get your son/daughter registered for sports you need to follow the link below to our new registration site; SmartSchool K12. When you arrive at the home site of the user portal, you will see guides available that will walk you through the registration process and setting up your parent portal, step by step.

When you are connecting your student to your parent account, you will need the STUDENT ID and their DATE OF BIRTH. You WILL NOT use a family key. 

Once you are registered and you have added your student to your account, please make sure to go into your settings and add a "Funding Source". This will allow you to complete your purchases upon checkout. Do not auto-fill this section as it will not work due to security reasons.

Earlier this year we had a lot of issues with different browsers when families were registering. Please attempt to use FireFox, as it is the most successful.
