NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS

On a warm day, new course, and short turn-around between competitions, the Simley Cross Country teams got their first real look at their Metro East rivals in the Conference Preview Meet at Mahtomedi. Kaiden Schrandt ran one of the smartest races of his XC career and in the field, moving up and sprinting his way to a 4th place finish and personal best time of 17:34. Kaiden’s performance makes him the 20th fastest performer in school history. Tyler Ngo took an additional 35 seconds off his personal best from Saturday to finish in 24th. The other Spartan scorers were Hunter Aamot, Blake Stinnett, and Colin Fischbach. Colin ran a personal best by 49 seconds. An additional 3 more boys ran personal bests with the biggest ones coming from Miles Anderson and Everett Kehl, 2 more boys ran season bests, and 6 ran their first 5ks.

For the girls, Megan Gullerud won her first race of the season in dominant fashion in her fastest time of the season. Abi Lindquist ran an equally strong and smart performance to finish in 3rd place and new personal best of 20:37, to make her the 4th fastest runner in school history. Maisy Komatsu led by the Spartan pack in her 5k debut, which was supported by Alice Islam and Zoe Diaz finishing neck and neck for the 3rd time this season, each running a personal best by about 20 seconds. The boys finished 6th, just right behind Hastings while the girls were 4th. Results can be found at Fast Finish Results.com The Spartans next race next week on Thursday, Sep. 22 at Pine Island.

Attention Homecoming Committee - there is a meeting tomorrow 9/15 at 8:10am in Ms. Austin's classroom WA106. Seniors: your parking permit applications are due TODAY. Applications turned in late may lose priority status and can be held back. See Ms. Sievert in the office if you have any questions.

"Are you interested in the German culture, or just want to meet new people in a fun setting outside of class? There will be a short informational meeting for German Club this Friday in Mr. Mitchell's room EA203 at 8:15am. The club is open to anyone and all are welcome." Students: Photos and IDs from the August picture day are in! They are available for pick-up in the Assistant Admin’s Office, with Ms. Janice, located next to the nurse’s office. If you were unable to take your photo in August, picture make-up day is September 21st. Repeat Announcements:

Lunch release and study hall release are available for seniors only!  Parents of seniors have been emailed with the release forms.  If your parents have already submitted the forms, please check into the main office before leaving, until you receive your release card.  That being said, ALL Students, we DO NOT allow door dash, grub hub or other similar food deliveries here during the school day. Please arrange your lunches ahead of time.
Simley Cross Country is holding a fundraiser event on 10/6 from 4-8pm at the Noodles location in West St. Paul. 25% of all qualifying purchases will go directly to the Cross Country Boosters Club.
