The Girls Swim Team COMPLETELY dominated in the water at last night's JV Conference Champs!  There was no looking back to the competition after the 1st event!  The Spartans won the JV Conference Meet.  They outswam the 2nd place team by 200 points.  Congratulations on a great season for these Swimmers!

On Tuesday, October 24th at the Metro East Conference Championships the Simley Boys & Girls Cross Country teams recorded the highest team finishes in the last decade, with the boys finishing 6th and girls 7th.  Senior Tim Wilmot earned All-Conference honors with his 12th place finish and Senior Nick Molstad was all-conference honorable mention with a 18th place finish.  On Thursday, October 26th both teams wrapped up their season with 14th place finishes at the Section 3AA championship, finishing two spots higher than both teams did a year ago.  Tim Wilmot led the boys with a 17:49 5K, and Freshman Brekken Grathen ran a 21:29 to lead the Girls team.  

 


Attention all students who are interested in being on the 2017-18 Simley Wrestling team.  There will be an informational meeting at 2:45PM on Wednesday, November 1 in the high school cafeteria. This meeting will cover the registration, practice and meet schedule and other important information. If you can't make the meeting please see Coach Short in the activities office.


Attention Student Council Members & NHS Members - If you have not turned in your WE Day application, the due date has been extended to Monday. Please submit your application to Ms. Ney in WA214 ASAP.


Student Council is hosting a movie TODAY after school in the Spartan Center from 3-5:30 p.m. ALL SIMLEY STUDENTS ARE INVITED. We will be reminiscing of the days of 2005 and watching Twitches! Bring a snack to share with the group.

Attention 9th-12th grade Football Players and Families

This year's football banquet brunch will be held at Southview Country Club on Sunday, November 19 at 11 am.  The cost is $21/person- Senior players are free.  Please RSVP to Sarah Zaiser at [email protected] by November 14.


The Girls Hockey season starts on Monday, October 30th at 3 p.m. - Register online through Feepay. See Mrs. Madigan in the Activities office if you need assistance with registration.


ATTENTION AVID, NHS & LINK CREW STUDENTS:

If you are planning on being a leader at the middle school retreat in November, your permission slips are due to Ms. Wang in the Guidance Office TODAY, Friday, October 27.

 

 

College Knowledge Fact of the Day: For the 17 institutions in the Minnesota Private College Council, the 4-year grad rate for first-time full-time students is 66%; this compares to 52% at the U of M system and 23% at Minnesota State universities. This means that students are more likely to graduate on time, stop paying tuition and start working.

 

Today is the last day to apply to many of the MN State Colleges and Universities for free. Please see Ms. Kimble if you need any help or have any questions concerning applications!

 

A reminder that if you visited a college, applied to college, or attended a college representative visit at Simley any time in September or October you are eligible to win great college prizes! The grand prize for seniors is a mini-fridge so be sure to enter your name into the drawing by the October 31st deadline! See Ms. Kimble in the Career Center to enter!

The Football team will be playing St. Paul Johnson at St. Paul Johnson on Saturday, October 28th at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $6 for Students & $8 for Adults.  

 

Attention Boy’s hockey players:

  • Captain’s practice starts next Monday,October 30th  

  1. Ice times are 3:00-4:00pm Monday - Friday for two weeks.

  2. You must be registered for the season thru the activities office

  3. You must have a current physical on file to participate

  4. Cost is $100 for 10 sessions. Bring a check written to the BLC on the first day.

Interested in joining the 2017-2018 Gymnastics team or Gymnastics training team?

The meeting for High school and returning middle school team members will be on Wednesday, November 1 @ 2:40 -3:30 in room EA208.

**Gymnastics gym set up will happen Monday, November 6 from 2:40-5. Open gym November 7- November 9 from 2:45-4:00 p.m.  Team tryouts will be on Monday, November 13.   Please email Coach Walsh @ [email protected] with any questions.

 

All Night Party 2018

The first meeting of the 2018 Simley Senior All-Night Party Committee will be held outside of the IMC at Simley on Tuesday, Nov. 7th at 6:30 P.M. Anyone interested in joining the committee to help plan next year’s party should attend. If you would like to volunteer, but are unable to attend, please send an e-mail to the committee at [email protected]  Thanks!

 

ATTENTION SENIORS: The Senior Panoramic pictures are ready for pick-up in the Guidance Office. If you did not order one, there are a limited number available at $17. Please see Ms. Wang.


There is a blanket drive going on for animals in need! These blankets will be donated to Home for Life, an animal sanctuary that gives dogs and cats who can't be adopted, a stable, loving and safe environment to live in.  You can also drop blankets off in the main office or nurse's office at any time through November 3rd.  Please contact Jacob Juers or Cole Erdman with any questions.  

 

 

Attention Seniors!

If you have not had your senior pictures taken yet, make sure you schedule your photo shoot soon! You have until December 1st to submit your Senior Portrait, turn in your baby picture, and complete the Senior Yearbook Survey.

Student Parking Lot- Only students with a Simley parking pass are allowed to park in the student lot. If you do not have a pass, you must park off campus. Students found parked in the lot with a pass may be ticketed, booted etc. See Ms. Sievert in the main office if you have questions.


Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.
