Simley girls basketball team notched their 1st win of the season against Armstrong on Friday night. After a tough loss to Holy Angels the team responded with great effort Friday night. Simley started out slow in the 1st half, but came out strong in the 2nd half. Simley held Armstrong to 18 points in the 2nd half with Guresi holding a top Armstrong player to 2 points. Ravyn Miles and Sydney Stensgard had 20 points each and Ti(swat) Danso added 15 points.  The Spartans also defeated Kasson Mantorville on Saturday winning 66-44.

It was only fitting that on “Hockey Fights Cancer” night at Vets, goalie James Royce earned the shutout stopping all 29 shots he faced. Scoring for Simley were Trent Peterson, Robby Watson and Jamie Warrick. Next Up: The Spartans will face Hill-Murray this coming Thursday night at Aldrich Arena. Puck drops at 7:00pm.
