Spartans Boys Hockey came from down 3-1 to win 4-3 in OT Thursday night. Scoring for the Spartans were Jamie Warrick, Peter Gorman, Konnor Carlson and Robby Watson. James Royce stopped 35 of 38 shots to earn his 12th victory of the season. The Spartans now hold a 12-3-1 record. Next game is at Home Thursday, January 18th against Highland Park. Game times are 5:30/7:30.



The Gymnastics team lost their meet to Henry Sibley last night with a score of 132.75-126.525.  Top finishers in the meet were Lane Paulson 3rd on bars, Kylie Seeling 3rd on vault and Morgan Johnson 3rd on bars, vault and in the all-round and 2nd on floor exercise.  The Spartans travel to the Mahtomedi Invite  tomorrow.  Next home meet is next Thursday!  



The Simley wrestling team beat Henry Sibley last night 61-9.

The wrestlers improved their record to 18-4. They are in action against Perham on Saturday.


Congratulations to the Girls Basketball team for their 73-30 win over St. Croix Lutheran last night.


TOMORROW - Simley Swim/Dive Outback Fundraiser

You're invited to the Swim/Dive Team fundraiser. Saturday, January 13th, 2018 with two seatings 10:30 and 11:30 am. Come and join us for a great meal, and meet the swimmers/divers and their awesome coaches.

The ticket is $17.00 each ($10 per ticket is tax deductible). Menu: Steak, mashed potatoes, salad, and a beverage. This fundraising is to help raise money for uniforms, suits, equipment, etc. Your support is very much appreciated!



Sgt. Morris from the U.S. Army will be here on Tuesday, 1/16. He will hold informational sessions during hours 1, 2, and 3 for anyone interested in learning more about the Army- career options, benefits, and more. Sign-up with Ms. Kimble in the Career Center.

Attention all AP students: AP Exam registration is now open. You should be receiving AP Exam registration information in one of your AP classes. If you do not receive the registration information, you can pick up the info in the guidance office.

The Registration deadline is February 28th.

 

Save the Date! The B.E.S.T.  Foundation Dinner is March 17th, 2018.  The event this year has an Irish theme. The dinner is a fundraiser event for scholarships that are awarded to students who attend Simley High School.  We hope to see you there!

February is Black History Month, which is about coming together as a community to remember and celebrate black history.  This year, Simley will be hosting the Sounds of Color, where students of all backgrounds can come together to celebrate black history through music.  Auditions will be on January 17th and 18th after school from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in the Spartan Center. Audition Sign up sheets will be posted by the PAC, and students in grades 9-12 are welcome to try out!
The Sounds of Color event will take place on Thursday, February 15th from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the PAC. We encourage you to be a part of this celebration.

2018 Spring Trap Season

The 2018 Spring Trap Season will be starting soon.  Trap is open to all 7-12th grade boys and girls who have completed or will have completed the MN DNR Firearms Safety Certification by March 1st.  Registration information will be coming out in the next couple of weeks.  Feel free to email questions to [email protected] or check the Simley Athletics Trap Page for additional information.(https://simleyathletics.com/teams/2233938/boys/trapshooting/varsity)

 



 

Student Parking Lot- Only students with a Simley parking pass are allowed to park in the student lot. If you do not have a pass, you must park off campus. Students found parked in the lot with a pass may be ticketed, booted etc. See Ms. Sievert in the main office if you have questions.


Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.
